More bizarre very weird comments, just a matter of time but i think its too late.

Why deliberately go on a sky interview that was set up to do that and come out with such nonsense?

Does it to himself sometimes.

I'm with you on that. Hindsights a wonderful thing but I wish we told Vardy no increase and if you're not happy, go. At the time I wanted him to stay but the knock effect to succumbing to his request has had a detrimental effect on every player.

Sonny Liston once said it's harder to get out of bed for your 6am runs when you're wearing silk PJ's. We are seeing that this season with a lot of players.

Couldn't agree more.

It doesn't help when he's coming out with bizarre comments such as "they fight more now than last season...".  Clearly the exact opposite is true.

Just how much further is the guy going to go to protect the players?

It's a sorry state of affairs and it's only going to end badly - I can't see any way out of it.

A little sad to read these comments, and it's a great shame if the players aren't fully behind Claudio.

Surprised he's come out & said this but we can only hope that it serves to galvanise the players from now on in. We need a real upturn in form and although it doesn't look likely right now, it's not impossible. The ability is there.

It's as good as over for me. It's reached the point where it feels like a write-off until he's gone. It just isn't working anymore and we'll never understand why.

I can't put it all on the players without knowing. A lot of them have been disgraceful but why would they all turn on him if that's what it looks like is happening?

There is doubt that is for sure, and that tells me that Ranieri isn't able to turn this around even if he used the most suited formation and tactics. The players aren't playing for him and that is unfixable

Players, nowadays, never play for a manager, for the club or for the fans.

They only play for themselves. Or do you really think, that last season,

the same guys, who now can't be arsed, were putting in a shift every

weekend, because they were playing for CR?

Get real!!

They saw their, once in a lifetime, chance to become rich and famous.

That was their motivation. Nothing else.

Now they are rich (thanks to those new contracts) and famous.

Mission accomplished = end of motivation = end of story.

Fairytales don't have sequels.

I've honestly felt like this for weeks. It's difficult to write on here...a few weeks ago you'd get lambasted. But the formations, the way we've played, the team selections, the chopping and changing have all smacked, I'm afraid, of a bloke who hasn't known what his best side is pretty much all season.

The manager carries the can. The players wouldn't have played like this if they'd continued to respect him (I think they did last season) and if they'd known what the Hell their roles were.

Real real shame...but I have a feeling if we are to turn this around now, it will be a bigger great escape than it was under Pearson. I don't mean in terms of points of course, but it just 'feels' worse...more chaotic.

They were all linked with somewhere else in the summer ..................... wish we'd cashed in now

The only one that left was the only one I wanted to stay........................ The Little French Guy

By the way who's saying Jeff's Thick now ?

Well said Chico 1958. Jeff must be laughing his head off.

I could be barking up the wrong tree but this is the strongest indication yet that CR may be on the verge.....

He's made mistakes, I love the bloke but the players haven't helped him at all. This was started at board level tho, huge contracts handed out made the majority of the squad arrogant, unmotivated, no desire cvnts

Who knows tho maybe this will give them the much needed kick up the backside or it just makes things worse, with their attitudes at the moment it's probably heading for worse

Yes claudio can take some of the blame for the failing this season but i hope the players feel very ashamed of themselves if Claudio gets the boot...

As have I. Even after we beat Man City, as good as that was, I still felt that it was a bit of a freak game where Pep got it so badly wrong and it papered over the cracks.

We started the season very hit and miss. Good at home but atrocious away. We have slowly gotten worse and worse and January was that bad it was hard to believe it was even a PL side, let alone one that have just won it.

I just don't buy this notion that it's all on the players. As well "Ranieri won them the title", does that not kind of work both ways?

The longer he's here the less chance we have of survival. It's sad but it's true.

They'll be more famous if we go down, in fact they'll all be in history books as the Team who over achieved to massive under achievers

Claudio is as good as gone

Crying shame it has come to this.

If it is to be his fate then the first game after he leaves I hope it is a full house chanting "Ranieri". He will always be a legend to me. Been badly let down by his players

Sadly they probably won't. We've seen before how players can get the manager the sack.

If Ranieri gets sacked and next season we see Vardy, Drinkwater, Mahrez of 2015/16 then that's quite an indication. Very Chelsea-like this.

This is why I don't get that they're not pushing themselves (Which it looks like they're not).

They must be embarrassed but they're not acting like it or doesn't look like they're that bothered about changing things.

If they're not doing it for Ranieri, do it for their self-centred-selves ffs!

I made a comment about when they won SPOTY team of the year hoping they'd be embarrassed, I got slated for the comments, bet quite a few people agree now, and rightly so.

Not just the players whoever is responsible for recruitment as well.

Morgan & Huth were made to look better with the protection of Kante last season. He didn't really get replaced, we must have wanted a defender as we bid for Michael Keane not only did that not come to fruition the only defender we ended up signing was a free transfer from a team that finished 17th in the Spanish league.

He must have wanted another midfielder as we went in very late for Adrien Silva, why wait until the last day of the summer transfer window to make a move?

People can bitch & moan about the players not performing & I'll agree they haven't. But CR has been let down by people behind the scenes just as much. Also CR isn't blameless we say Vardy doesn't chase things down as much now but after Chelsea away it came out that Ranieri had told him not to and stand off players. Who's to say he isn't still telling him to do that?

A lot is said about "the players" but they should not all  be  put in the same boat.

Amartey, Ndidi, Chilwell and Mendy want to prove themselves. Schmeichel still tries to keep the ball out of the net and Morgan and Huth still throw their bodies on the line but are making more mistakes. I don't think Fuchs would be unprofessional and deliberately put in sub-standard performances.  He appears to have lost some pace and some confidence. Albrighton always works hard but sometimes isn't very good, particularly when played out of position and Shinji still bombs round like a headless chicken.

I think Ranieri has lost a small but influential group of players without whom we are struggling to be competitive and creative. The opposing  views (for and against the manager) result in there being different factions within the squad and an overall loss of togetherness and team spirit with a consequent adverse effect on  performances.

All in al a toxic mess that needs to be sorted quickly.

Yeah, I accept I was generalising and over simplifying it a bit. It just seems a shame that the man at the helm for our finest ever hour is heading for the "sack" within a year!

The players showed what they were capable of before Ranieri.

Yeah, sitting  more than 140 days at the bottom of the table in

the 2014/15 season. Truly something to be proud of.

Could it be, that Kaspar and his buddies also didn't like to

play for NP?  Or was Nigel just so inept, that he needed a 30

games test run, before he knew, what the right formation was?

I think that if you watched 2014/15, it'd be difficult to argue that the players weren't playing for NP; a large proportion of fans were patient and happy(ish) because we weren't rolling over, we were battling and we looked like we'd be capable of winning a few games - the same cannot be said for this season.

This has a very Chelsea-like look to it. Suspicions of key star players deliberately underperforning  (Costa, Hazard, Fabregas). Who are our version in those positions? Yep. Couple of other Chelsea players working hard and being professional (Willian, Azpilicueta = Albrighton, Fuchs).

Ranieri put the final nail in Mourinho's coffin last season. It wouldn't surprise me if Mourinho returns the favour this weekend.
