UniFox21 Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 Drinkwater People rate him, but when he's on his day he runs our midfield, pinging balls everywhere When he's with the right midfield partner he's a top quality player and was very unlucky in my mind that his peak year came with Woy as England boss otherwise would've played more

But since that his games have been good
ARM1968 Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 I was always underated. I was like a ginger Socrates.
lcfcben76 Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 Ulloa, think his contribution to us winning the league was underrated, also think he holds the ball up very well

Just a shame we bought him at 29/30 years of age, a couple of years younger and I think he'd have been here longer than what he was. He always speaks highly of Leicester, speaks sense about football in general, and I think he'll make a good coach.
The whole world smiles Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 Marcin was a superb center back in our promotion season / great escape season it annoys me a bit that people don't seem to remember and just think he has always been a slow, clumsy squad player far from it he was very, very good. Free signing too.

TJB-fox Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Always thought the centre halves we had in our league one stint under Pearson were underrated ; Brown, Hobbs, Morrison. All were very solid here and was sad to see them leave (even racist Brown) Wellens is a good shout, incredibly talented guy with a sharp mind. Never understood the stick he got here. Year we went up, probably Matty James or even Nugent, both were superb that year. Most recently, probably our fullbacks- best we've had in years/ever, despite their limitations and some of Fuchs' horror shows he's served up this year!
EnglishOxide Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 I think Amartey is class. Not a goalscorer or creator sure, but that passion for the Stoke equaliser! He can do a job in 3 positions, hopefully we see more of him soon and he isn't completely shut out of the starting 11.
eblair Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 judging by some of the comments on the kante thread, kante
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Simpson really isn't under-rated. A very average full back who we can upgrade upon.

Free signing too. No! You're wrong! He's an aggressive bulldozer that has always been out of position, makes bombscare tackles and always gets red cards for elbowing the opposition...is what many lcfc fans would lead people to believe anyway Hes been great for us, and can only remember one red card he's received during his spell here?? (Chelsea in cup?)
Grewks Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Matty James. He proved during the championship, and the latter end of our first season back in the top flight, that he was a superior player to Drinkwater. Neither he or Drinkwater were/are consistent goal threats, but James was always the better passer and more physical player for me. Obviously his injury has ruined him....but imagine how good he could've been if he didn't pick up the serious injuries he did before he joined us.

He got stick on FoxesTalk because he also got praise on FoxesTalk and that's how this place works, idiots latch on to the most benign of subjects at random and argue the most polarised views. Pearson is either the best manager ever or a dour bully and a thug. Waghorn was either world class or Sunday league, as was Gallagher, Wellens, Hume, Joey Gudjonson, David Nugent, etc. The answer was and is usually somewhere in the middle. In the case of Wellens, he was an enormously frustrating footballer with some technical ability enough to draw praise but nowhere near as much as he believed. He always, always, always slowed the game down when it didn't need to be in a way that Nugent would later do and it killed a lot of moves. However, he generally kept possession and usually put a shift in. Very average, definitely not under rated.

Guest Danny Clender Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Completely agree with eblair, Kante. 20 Million release clause, sold for 32 Million, what's he worth now? 50? 70? 90? 100? Think the club underrated that one a little bit.

bluefox76 Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Tony James although I was just a kid, seem to remember him being half descent. Until(correct me if I'm wrong) Steve Bull and the broken leg.
Aus Fox Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Simon Grayson used to get a hell a lot of stick, was in the days before Internet forums, so not sure if it was just the people I went to games with/spoke to in the pub before hand. But, I always thought he was excellent and very consistent for us, will never forget his goal away at Wimbledon.
