Underrated players

Just wanted to start a discussion about leicesters underrated players, or players that don't seem to get praise regardless of how they perform.

for me Danny Simpson, has been very consistent 7/10. You rarely get anything great out of him, but also rarely cost us a goal.

People may have a better memory then me, but for me he isn't a very bad player at all.

100% best of the current back 4.

Wellens seemed to get stick on here despite the fact he was was quality for us and our best midfielder in years. Just a shame we bought him at 29/30 years of age, a couple of years younger and I think he'd have been here longer than what he was.

He always speaks highly of Leicester, speaks sense about football in general, and I think he'll make a good coach.

Not underrated or overrated just average, very limited distribution which invariably comes straight back to us via an attack and his throw ins are decidedly below average and rarely leave us with possession.

King, Okazaki and Simpson are names who spring to mind.

Okazaki. Yes he's VERY frustrating at times but he's pivotal to our most effective way of playing. Vardy picked him in his ideal 5 a side team so obviously he's well regarded among the players.

Pontus Kåmark was a wicked player.

Anyone seen Juninho recently? No. That's because he's still in Pontus' pocket.

Albrighton

Best crosser of the ball. We play better when he's on the pitch. Two managers have decided he's our best LW even when playing on his weaker side.

Mahrez is under-rated.  He is a luxury player but there are few of his ilk. His exceptional ability has been our fortune.  It's a shame he gets slagged off so much on this forum

I think it's because we all know his ability, but some times he is so frustrating.

Danny Simpson is one of the few players that have performed to a similar standard of last season.

Whilst he's very good at what he does as a defensive full back I feel if we're going to progress as a team we need to have a right back who is comfortable on the ball and has something to offer offensively. Simpson is one of the reasons why our possession stats are so low as we have three defenders who don't want the ball and Albrighton for all his strengths isn't great on it either.

Simpson is an excellent defender, I'd even go as far as saying that he's only second to Azpilicueta as the best defensive fullback in the league.

Simpsons tackling and positioning are great however his distribution ability is that of an 8 year old...close eyes and hoof..

I always liked ian Hume! That guy could leap about 3 times his own height and just hover in the air.

I won't say he is underrated, but he is defiantly under-appreciated by most Leicester fans here because he set the bar that high.

people will be expecting 8/10. 9/10 every game from the club's best player. His 6/10 match is a 8/10 performance for another player (let's say gray for example). You know deep down inside his critics's heart, they want the best for him.

You would fined people singling out what he didn't do instead of what he did because they expect that from him. But, just ask yourself, how many players can drift out of games than just suddenly score the winning goal (like he was doing in the second half of last season)

Mahrez is one in a million, people! Players can run faster than him, are stronger than him, have better shot on them, and probably can dribble better than him. But, that moment of magic that can win you games is something else, I remember last season's game against villa in the second half, and I really thought that he was saying to his teammates "give me the ball and fallow me"

defiantly not the same level. But neymar didn't play well against PSG but he switched on in the last 10 minutes and got 2 goals and an assist (not saying mahrez is anywhere near neymar's level, but he defiantly has that moment of magic)

English people need to know that the key to success is flair players.  the England team flops everytime in the big sstag because The deference makers in the PL are all not English. Most english people will take the zaha's of the world over the mata's of the world because they are obsessed with power. They want the fastest and strongest player possible to develop, and that's one of the reasons english teams flop in the champions league (apart from few exceptions),they are playing checkers while the world is playing chess. But, there is a change going on and the new generation is more open to the idea of flair players.

In the 90's, Simpson could've been an english international. But, the modern football is not kind to fullbacks that can't overlap.

Paul Gallagher on his day was quality

Great delivery of the ball and wasn't afraid to have a shot.

Shame he never got a Scotland call-up while with us. Was definitely worthy at the time
