Crispin LA Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 Great hat-trick for wigan last night, wish we had signed him permanently when he was on loan to us in 2015, the ex man u and England player came on as sub and scored 3 goals in 11 minutes unbelievable!
Wolfox Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 Barely kicked a ball…. And not really heard of him since…. One. Swallow does not a summer make I even remember some Manc coming on here , proclaiming him to be the next great hope and wanting regular updates…. FT had little to offer other than his choice of bench warming attire
Guest Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 3 goals for Wigan and you wish we'd signed him permanently? Did you sleep through his loan here?
Crispin LA Posted 14 April 2017 Author Posted 14 April 2017 But the impact he had on as coming on as sub when wigan were 2 goals down, can't see our subs ever doing that apart from slimani
Sir Shep Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 From what I remember he had a bit of an attitude, I don't think he'd fit within our ethos here and we can do much better.

Crispin LA Posted 14 April 2017 Author Posted 14 April 2017 Yes he was lazy as it was said that he didn't,'the turn up to training or whatever, but he was young then early 20's. Mature now and still in his mid 20's

Are you suggesting you'd rather have Powell on the bench than Gray? If he was still with us he would be behind Lawrence, Kaputska and Barnes for a spot in the squad.
lgfualol Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 Nah, the guy didn't even want to play football when he was with us. Lazy shite.

Mature now and still in his mid 20's Fair play to the lad if he's turning his career round, but you've just answered why he didn't make it here. Age is no excuse, there's plenty of young players working their bollocks off, Powell was just a bit of an arrogant twat who thought he'd already made it. He's obviously had a reality check but I think he's got a lot of people to convince that he's got the work ethic to back his talent up.

Marky mark Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 Didn't he turn up with a right ego late fir training most days new merc every other week
burleighfox Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 I'd have much preferred it if we had taken a punt on him after that big season he had at Crewe; he was phenomenal. It's pretty fair to say that United kind of ruined all of his early promise and it'll be a while until fulfils his potential if at all.

Seems to come across as very selfish and arrogant.
J.Lisemore Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 5 goals all season, that's including his hat trick last night...prolific.
ramadaone Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 Think the phrase big time Charlie was made for this tit what a complete waste of talent
