Bluearmyfox28 Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Sell to Chelsea for £10m & 2 of Christianson, Ake or Zouma. Alternatively I would be happy to sell to Barca for £40m. Yes you'll miss out on a bit extra £££ but at least we haven't got to deal with him being class for another prem side.
ARM1968 Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Rather he went to the Panini all star sticker club than any Prem team.

I agree with your theory but I maybe a single voice but £40m for a match winner with his talents feels ridiculously low when you compare Van Dijk £60m, Walker £50m and Bellerin £45m. I fully appreciate none have moved but none of 'those will move for much less and actually match winners traditionally are worth more!! If I was the billionaire owner with a player under contract on £100k a week who had created, scored and been part of a champions team who had also played in the CL I would not settle for anything less than £50m-£60m in the current market - they don't need the money and we have to replace him!!! Despite some stupid views on here he is a match winner and whilst not as effective last season he still demanded massive attention from opponents. Maybe I am the fool but I genuinely hope IF he is going that they hardball for every penny from any English Club and still get a better deal than £40m from a European one!

If Barca buy him for 40M how much do you expect a premier league side to but him for? ?

Bossman Blessed It Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 With reported figures we might as well brace ourselves to get absolutely shafted again (Kante was a slightly different situation, but in hindsight we definitely did get shafted). Mahrez showed that if he's in a team that's playing well, he's fantastic. He's won a league title and was crowned as player of the year literally this time last year. Granit Xhaka went for £35 million to Arsenal. ****ing Moussa Sissokho cost £30 and he played one decent game in the Euros. If we can't bump it up to £50 million and get a buyer then someone's had a shocker negotiating a deal.

Finn Claw II Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Pretty simple,. He was happy to sign a long lucrative contract - £50m (Salah, Deeney, etc.) If someone meets it he goes, if they don't he plays for us next season. There is no way he will sulk for too long if he doesn't go.

jayfox26 Posted 10 June 2017 Posted 10 June 2017 Sign a replacement anyway and if he doesnt get his move he can sit on the bench next season. Would personally hate it if he stayed and played every week playing like he did last season. But would love it if he stayed and recaptured the previous seasons form that we all know hes capable of. But realistically he will leave. I think Arsenal will take a gamble on him and we'll probably get around £35m. We should look at doing a cash plus player deal with whoever comes in for him. £25m plus chamberlain would be nice but unlikely

Wasn't that much, but Deeney wanted to stay, Mahrez is issuing statements about wanting out. Makes a difference. This is closer to the Payet shite West Ham had to deal with. Bloke was on fire and had a great Euros, they had to accept £25m because he wouldn't play for them. By issuing statements Mahrez has shown his hand, he's a shit bag willing to do what it takes to get a move.

Hes probably worth more but as we know, when a player asks to leave that often brings the price down. Cant see us getting anything over £40m. If we'd have sold last summer i reckon we'd have got over £50m but after last season and the fact hes asked to leave, i cant see it now
st albans fox Posted 10 June 2017 Posted 10 June 2017 Some twitter speak today from Spain re Barca and £40m

foxes21 Posted 10 June 2017 Posted 10 June 2017 Reliable journo's from Barca reported a couple days back about a bid going in for Mahrez
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 11 June 2017 Posted 11 June 2017 Arsenal have made a bid but apparently holding out for the Barcelona bid .. his preferred destination. The lad has set his sights high.
