Think some of us need to get some perspective Arrrrgh that's such a silly philosophy!! My parents bought their house for £1500 and it's probably worth £200,000 now.... but they'd be happy with £20k for it wouldn't they because it's a good profit on £2k. NO of course they wouldn't!!!!
KFS Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 Just now, the fox said: Mahrez is special, that assists to vardy vs man city and the nutmeg assist vs stoke, no one in the team can think about doing it let alone pulling it off. Let's hope he remembers how after last year's sabatical.

If he plays bad he is a fraud and if he tares fuchs to shreds he is a snake and a traitor. Just hope he gets a ℅ of the love kantè got when he came back. Our team has no creativity without him, better get spending.

Max Power Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 Salah has gone for £35m this window. Mahrez is better, proven in the PL and has three years left on a big contract. Just because the player wants to leave doesn't mean we should accept way below market value. You shouldn't even get a call back unless you are waving £40m
FoxinNotts Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 I think Arsenal will really struggle to hold on to Sanchez, so Mahrez will be seen as his replacement. Big shoes to fill imo. Lacazette will be tasked with replacing Sanchez' goals haul, Giroud may go to say West Ham, Mahrez will do well from an assist point of view in a passing side, but Sanchez works back well, like any Chilean, so Mahrez may still need to up his game when tracking back

Considering Albrighton has more assists this year... we won't miss the Mahrez of last season, the one before we would. I will miss the moments of magic, but they have been few and far between this year and the end product has been missing.
st albans fox Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 Have a feeling Arsenal will pay 38m but a nagging thought that Chelsea may look to hijack the deal
Great Boos Up Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 Now this a Sigh..verb; emit a long, deep audible breath expressing sadness, relief, tiredness.

But let's not make out his failings last year were about anything other than himself. It's embarrassing to arse lick him when he's clearly just been shit, arguably because he's been less than commited. If it's about him being in a decent side how come he got no better from March onwards when almost everyone else's form improved dramatically to the extent that we went from relegation certainties to safety in a matter of weeks? Really, explain that to me. because when/if he moves to a better side, they will have better players. This means the opposition cannot just double up on him and take him out the game.

I think that you guys are expecting too much from him, Mahrez's value today is no more than 20m. Considering his atrocious season.

By your calculations, Chelsea should have sold Hazard on the cheap last summer then? He was poor in the15/16 season but outstanding again under Conte this past season.

The first one came through his agents to the press from what I could tell, not released on his social media, not filmed etc... all deniable. Plus I'm pretty sure it would have to be a written transfer request directly to the club.

Mahrez's career is like a parabola, Hazard, a growing curve. The Riyad of last season was better than Salah i guess, but that was a level he will never reach again. Other than that he's bang average.

His representatives are his representatives. unless he sacks them then they speak for him. he made it clear that he felt now was the time for him to move on. he said in his interview that he wants to leave but if he has to stay then it isn't a disaster for him. i am sure that the club will tell him that his loyalty bonus will have to come from Arsenal as part of his s/o fee. In a similar way to kante who pleaded with the owners to allow him to go to Chelsea, even though we didn't have to sell him to a non CL club. I expect we didn't pay him a loyalty bonus either,
FoxinNotts Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 Well look, we aren't just going to accept the first bid that comes in for him. We will value him at about £42m. Let see what happens
st albans fox Posted 27 June 2017 Posted 27 June 2017 After last summer and other Arsenal transfer woes, they won't make any offer public unless they know we will accept it and that the player wants it. They couldn't afford for us to rebuff their offer unless we ar pe going to insist on 45m in which case they will argue he is overpriced and they tried at a acceptable valuation.
