Mahrez to .......................?

Now I'm not one to hold a grudge but if anyone can remember how much I detested Kante going to chelsea then they will understand I hope for the following

Mahrez gets his move

City get a decent fee ((40-50 mill minimum))

and that in his first game for his new club he accidentally breaks both legs in a career ending tackle

only kidding

:D

theres either a load of carcasm going on here, am I missing something?

The club knew Kante leaving as soon as last season was over.

no sarcasm mate. I was pretty sure that they had indications that he would stay another year (perhaps jan if the champions league campaign went TU).  if they really knew he was leaving, how do you explain our transfer policy in that area ??

Has mahrez gone mate?

Gone, Going, what's the difference?

he won't be in a Leicester shirt again, we need to play hardball, get at least £40 for him, and move on.

In fact, buy his replacement new creative midfielder, before he goes. Show some intent, and soften the blow.

Ok no worries, never in a million years, he was gone, he never settled in Leicester and this wasnt his first choice club.

Surely if I knew , the club knew _ I had indication from the player himself in April . I think I said as much on here when the season finshed, he said he would listen to offers without naming a club.

The transfer policy is fxxked up at City. We signed bang average players or pontential,  instead of going out as Prem Champs and getting our targets.

We went in for Deeney, Keane and  Sigurdsson, just imagine if we had got those 3.

Small minded mentality = 12th place.

We did sign Mendy, who was Raneris choice, and later on Ndidi to replace Kante.

Like the intent last year, not wiling to spend £20m on Keane

So who's ultimately responsible for our failing transfer policy, in your opinion?

I could buy him for that much, then loan him back?

I love him for the title win but it will be kind of amusing to see him looking like all the other Arsenal players when they have their annual season implosion

The person in charge of the policy , the person who places a value on the target, the person who negotiates.

I honestly also think that the manager and DOF , recruitment should be involved. So we sign player that suits our style of play.

This is important e.g. in the case of Sigurssson, but does he suit our style?

We should think big, we didnt have to break the bank, but £2-3m more on getting in Keane last season, Sigurdsson, offered £25 - perhaps get him for £30m last season. We have more TV revenue coming in. Not asking to break the bank or gamble club finances.

Look at Spurs, as much I can't stand them, I have to admire when they sell they really do push the boat out, Bale, and now look at the recent interest on Kane. He plays hardball. £200m, yet their wage structure is similar to ours.

You can t keep playing the numbers game, keep picking up unearthed gems all the time, you need some proven quality additions , blend the 2 and we might improve.
