Moksky Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 We shoud have upgraded on the appointments off the field. Premiership winners with Championship mentality. Think Whelan and Rudkin are out of their depth
lgfualol Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 So who on earth will we get to replace him if we're a shambles in the transfer department. Not convinced Gray is key as much as I hope he will be (2 goals in 55 appearances for us) - but we need another winger anyway. Albrighton, Gray, Lawrence and Musa may not cut it.

Not to mention the breakup of our tried and tested scouting and recruitment process. All we're left with now is a chap nobody has heard from (Macia) whose reputation since his days with Benitez is dubious and a DOF who's only real skill is brown nosing. It's a real shame as we're precariously closer to relegation next season than we are of building on that unbelievable title win.

I thought he was a bright spark last season but he just needs to work on his final ball. He'll need to find the score more if we're going with Gray, Okazaki and Albrighton behind Vardy.
ealingfox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Anti-Rudkin protest at the first home game. Has to be. The owners don't actually know the fans generally take him for a mug do they?

They've even got the pleb buying horses for them!! it's even worse than when Clive Woodward had a poke about at football. Hahahaaaaa

Not good enough. fvcking hell. loads of clubs haven't even signed anyone yet. If it was 'pre-season has finished and we've only brought in one player' then yeah you'd have a point. Plenty of time to get deals sorted. What YOU want and what the club may want are 2 totally different things so your expectations are bound to be skewed.

Smudge Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Blaming Rudkin is probably right but we really don't know the circumstances. I assume he has a budget to work to and that maybe the issue. In any event, the owners are responsible for his employment and ultimately the budget limits. Having said that, if the guy's a sycophant and isn't fighting for funds for quality players, he's failing everyone.

Yes but by the time we settle to buy someone the key targets will be signed by another team Hope what you say is true of course and we hold out hope as always. But if we wait and sign a dude named molla wague........wait...

Problem is though Stan, the last few windows have shown that we can't seek any confidence that deals will still be done as we've had a howler almost every window in the last two years. Until proven otherwise I've very little faith, it's the biggest weakness at our club right now and something that is much easier to rectify than major surgery to the first team squad.

I suspect (only a feeling) that the bulk of Leicester fans are feeling exactly this way. A lot of pretty knowledgeable types kinda know what this squad needs and the longer we don't sign better players to strengthen certain positions, the more specticism will prevail. This summer's window is also different in one key respect. That is, this time we have players that many wouldn't give two hoots if we got rid of an. Musa and Mendy spring to mind. But, as things stand, they are still here. The point isn't that they might not come good in the end (they might), but that very few seem to be really hopeful they will stay. As in "Really want Musa to stay" type thing.
matty98 Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 We've had 1 bad transfer window in the past 3 years, people need to stop overreacting.

Put it like this, its not a panic, look at Everton, they have identified what they want and gone out and got it. There are no hard and fast rule to signing players. I would almost certainly say get it done early, get the players into pre season all together and gelling. There is time yes, but early bird catches the worm. We ****ed about appointing Shakey.

Bit worried he wont see it through.
ge12 Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 I think they’re using Mahrez ‘interest’ as a way of forcing Monaco’s hand over Thomas Lemar much like we did re James McArthur and Cambiasso, who appears to be their first choice but have been told he not for sale, with Monaco everyone is for sale if the price it right. If they fail on that then they may move on to Mahrez but with nearly 2 months to go and no one else appearing to be interested in our man I can’t see them being in a rush and can’t see them being seriously interested in signing both. Speaking to mates who are Arsenal fans, until there is word from David Ornstein no one really knows much of what’s going on, has he made any comments regarding Mahrez?
