Mahrez to .......................?

Quite a biggish article in the Telegraph today about Arsenal, the signing of Lacazette, who they are trying to keep and who else they are trying to buy.    Not one word about Mahrez ....    Weird ...    Call themselves a NEWS paper ! ...

This was all too predictable and if we get £35M whilst they're spunking £40M+ on Lacazette, we are a joke.

Absolutely bizarre that we'd let someone that good on a long contract go for that price when clubs like Swansea are demanding more for Sigurdsson who has won nothing there.

I know a lot is conjecture, so I think I'm just gonna watch Mahrez skill videos on Youtube and cry.

Arsenal are paying £57m for Lacazette.

When publications are sticking "an Italian" source in their articles and not their own name, it's because they know there is a high probability of it being rubbish.

Laughable. So we'll probably get £10m more for Mahrez and Kante.

The Lyon chairman stands his ground, they've been bidding for years on him and trying to low ball them.

So he's agreed personal terms but they haven't bid yet...

He scored twice for them yesterday in a friendly ...

This is either an Italian website trying to make a name for themselves or it's Arsenal trying to force the hand of clubs such as Monaco who they are also dealing with.

Regardless, if we sell for less than £50M we are fools. Talk today of Coutinho being worth £86M. Coutinho who is a similar age but with zero Ballon d'or nominations, PFA Player of the Year awards or Premier League Winners medals.

Mahrez has 3 years left on his contract and, let's be honest, if he has to stay we won't see any difference in motivation compared to last season.

Be strong, hold out and get a good price.

Exactly this.

Also how many times did we see last season that Arsenal or someone else were 'close to announcing' one of our players only for it not to happen. We live in the age of fake news.

We should not be accepting anything less than £40 Million up front at the absolute minimum and that should also include some performance related addons raising it higher.

Amazing how far a few shit sources can go.

Kante was different.... he deserved the hate as he jumped ship when we had just qualified for the CL and Chelsea weren't even in it. He could have given us one more year easily.

Mahrez stayed with us to see what we could achieve in the CL, if we'd have built better on last year he may have stayed this year but he definately deserves credit for not only staying with us when he could have easily left but also signing a bumper deal meaning we could demand a decent fee this year.

lol incredibly noble of him to do that.

Absolutely ...   here was me thinking players signed contracts cus they wanted to stay at the club ...   and all the time he was only doing it to help us get a good price when he wanted to go ...   noble indeed !

So you think it would have been better for our club to let his contract run down. We'd probably be looking at 15-20mill now

No ...   I think it would have been better for him to honour his contract and play like he was very slightly interested.

give him a break!  we know that the club also thought he was staying

theres either a load of carcasm going on here, am I missing something?

The club knew Kante leaving as soon as last season was over.
