The sun aren't even reporting it, it's a copy paste from the Italian link. Why on earth an Italian website would have a scoop about an Algerian player in a deal between two English clubs I have no idea.
Leeds Fox Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 The real world equivalent of what Mahrez has done is, leave a company who gave you a great opportunity and believed in you when few others would, while paying you handsomely for it. For him to decide he's had enough and feck off without working your notice leaving the company and coworker (many who may have been friends) without anyone else who's capable of filling your role. How can the Algerians not see this? Enjoy having a player you can enjoy watching and take pride in... it won't last forever and it'll be back to a below mediocre sporting outlook for you nation.

It feels a bit familiar this situation, I can't quite put my finger on it. Oh yeah, every transfer window since twitter was invented.
Tuna Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Lets see if any credible sources run the story. Remember the journalist who broke news of Remy signing for us?

It makes me laugh though, you see one vague (usually foreign) article pop up and then twitter spreads its poison. Then the article gets more detailed every time its regurgitated until it sounds credible enough (doesn't take much) to end up in the tabloids. Everyone is desperate to be first to make the scoop, they don't seem to care where the information (or lack of it) comes from. Best of all, the same moronic twats swallow it again and again. It kills me

We need to stop being so damn sensitive about this. According to Mahrez, he had an agreement with the club going back to last summer, so he gave the club nearly a year's notice. As one of his coworkers said to me, his teammates wish him the best and understand that people have their own reasons for moving on. As far as any actual transfer news is concerned, the players know just as much as we do, haha.
Livid Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Well I hope he stays, in 40 plus years of watching the city I've never seen a player able to kill a cross field ball dead with such ease. He he has talent which we'll struggle to replace.

fuchsntf Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 When Mahrez, lifts the FA cup as captain for Leicester next May, will he be the smallest captain ever to drown in the pot after failing to lift it.....!!!

norwichfox Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 What no photo of his missus in an Arsenal shirt....got to be fake news. It's nearly as far progressed as Vardy moving to Arsenal last summer....

I just think last season was a bit of an embarrassment on his part. Yes, most were poor at some point or another, however Riyad was the only one who didn't seem too bothered or had a bit of an attitude. Without the Algerian posters on here, the whole situation would be different.

Buce Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Let's be honest - at £100,000 per week he stole a living last season.
katieakita Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 His achievements for the club will never be forgotten but if it is time to move on either his or our choice so be it. The Mahrez of the league winning season will take some replacing last seasons not so much. If he goes I just hope the club get a decent price for him. If he feels he can go no further with us it has to be for the best that he leaves and we get in someone who does want to be here. No need for some of the hysteria on here this is the best ever time to follow the City so lets enjoy it.
