Shakespeare future decided next week - Percy

What on earth did he do that Shakespeare hasn't? The clown lost 2-0 at home to an abysmal relegated Sunderland and blew their chance of staying up. How's that any better than Shakespeare making such a pigs ear tonight after what he did for us in the CL and saving us from relegation?

There really are some reactionary salads on this forum.

Its reactionary bollock based on nothing more than a hunch.

Fortunately, this is not the way our owners have managed the club to date. Even if Shakespear doesn't carry on, it won't be this result alone the decision is made on.

King will rape Benny and Fuchs in a love sandwich......

Thats why we need super Wasyl. A couple of his flying elbows will sort King out.

I do think Wasyl deserved a goodbye final game

Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare, speaking to BBC Sport:

On his future:

"There's been a bit of recruitment which I've been privy to but for me is to focus on football."

Interesting that he's only been made 'privy' to it. Doesn't sound like he's taken an active role there.

Said it before, say it again.

We're at a crossroads. Shakespeare isn't what we need.

Go and get someone, make a statement.

If the players don't like it, bye.

Not a reaction on tonight's shambles, just being realistic.

I don't know who to get in, but we need to stop clinging on to the past.

Again...ready to take shit from everyone who disagrees!

People were saying the exact opposite to that to the same type of comment in the transfers thread this morning. Thought it was a positive sign he was in on the meeting.

That really doesn't sound very promising for Shakey, does it?

Good point. Could be taken either way couldn't it?

I see you gave a Touchel shout... now that would be a statement!

Highly optimistic, but why not?

He can only say no.

After what we've achieved, why can't we sell it to him?

Shakey made a comment on Sky post match, when asked if this harmed his chances for the job he said "have to ask the owners, but if we'd won I don't think it would have done my chances for the job any good either". No one has mentioned it here yet so wondered if there was anything to read into that, and if so, maybe led to the players downing tools tonight.

I think that's our biggest ever defeat at the KP, I do feel that the club and players should apologise for that display to the fans. We use our hard earned money to see leic city football club play. That effort was worse than abysmal

Mate it was largely tongue in cheek, I guess it's hard to get intonation across on a chat forum lol For the record I've always had some doubts about Shakey as a manager but in reality he probably deserves a one-year contract.

While the results play apart. I still think that the overall decision needs to be based more on than just that. What's his philosophy, style of play, coaching techniques, youth team ideas, recruitment etc. If we base it just on results, it will be amateurish. If shakey ticks those boxes for the owners, tonight must written off. It's the bigger picture we need to look at.

Well i had been making a similar argument that Shakey might not be the way to go before tonight... I had been suggesting trying to find a 'name' that could bring with them a different style and direction, because we might need it (nothing lasts for ever), but I was happy to concede to the majority.

So why am I suddenly defending Shakey now? Maybe I like being contrary, but I think it's more because I hate the flip flop nature of some fans, who always need to find at least 3/4 scape goats.

Yes tonight was bad... but Pearson, O'Neill, Alex Ferguson, Bill Shankley - whoever as manager - would of struggled to find something better out of what we had tonight.

Behave... after all those players have given us over the past 24 months we can forgive them that!

I would rather have a manager who's willing to take chances to try and get something out of a game than a manager who is about damage limitation. Shakey isn't afraid to take those chances. Says alot about his character.
