About a third of Africa is in the Southern Hemisphere. From Gabon down. But many countries around the equator and the tropics have tropical climates and no winter or summer as such.

cc_star Posted 19 July 2017 Posted 19 July 2017 Very difficult to hold a summer tournament, you'd have to play in the southernmost tip of South Africa or northernmost tip of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia & Libya to avoid a tropical or equatorial climate, even then, night time games beneficial because of the mediterranean climate Just make it every 4 years... Every 2 is ridiculous

Every 2 is ridiculous Wouldn't it be pretty much the same playing in Summer as Winter around the equator though? Copa America manage to play in Summer too. Admittedly it would make it difficult for some countries to host but same with the World cup. Can't play that in the Middle East. Oh wait....:)
