Yed bollocks would steam in their own juices playing professional football in that heat they'd come out like a pork faggot.

This would be incredibly useful to us with the amount of Africans we have in our squad.

Yeh it really affected Musa in particular when Nigeria were in AFCON last season.

About a third of Africa is in the Southern Hemisphere. From Gabon down. But many countries around the equator and the tropics have tropical climates and no winter or summer as such.

Good news for the players who play in Europe, no disruption to the regular season for players or their clubs.

Is it still every two years?

Yes, which is a problem in itself for moving it to the summer, because European based African players could end up with a disrupted pre-season 3 years out of 4.

The powers that be are ruining football - the number of games in competitions keeps growing, but the quality and interest is decreasing (especially in early rounds/none impact games). The football bubble will burst if they're not careful.

About time, now the move to make it four years instead of two like everyone else.

All games at night time could work  of its "cooler" thrn depending  on where in africa the tourney is being held.

Personally they need to make it every 4 years.

About time they moved it to summer when international tournaments are usually played, it should come into line with tournaments like the world cup and European championships!

Very difficult to hold a summer tournament, you'd have to play in the southernmost tip of South Africa or northernmost tip of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia & Libya to avoid a tropical or equatorial climate, even then, night time games beneficial because of the mediterranean climate

Just make it every 4 years... Every 2 is ridiculous

They should play it in different countries, like the European Championships does.

Its always in Africa, which I know is a huge country, but maybe they should try a different country.

Have to assume that our backroom knew this was in the pipeline when commiting to so many potentially at risk players. If not, yay for our good fortune.

Wouldn't it be pretty much the same playing in Summer as Winter around the equator though? Copa America manage to play in Summer too. Admittedly it would make it difficult for some countries to host but same with the World cup. Can't play that in the Middle East. Oh wait....:)
