The reason I bring this up is because a while back there was a poll saying whether we should expand the stadium the poll's result was a yes but many had said not until we have established a top flight place. I doubt opinions have stayed the same since then.

I'd love a 40,000 sell out each week but genuinely don't see the need. Current capacity is just about perfect. Full and keeps some level of demand. Hope we do expand though and that I'm priced wrong.

We'll need the extra seats to accommodate the growing band of East Asian tourists that always seem to have tickets for the big games.

Arsenal last night & old Trafford in a couple of weeks. Like the Vatican at easter ;)

No and no.

Realistically, it takes just one bad season and we could be back in the wilderness for 10 years, with 22,000 people rattling around a 40,000 seater stadium, and personally I don't like the sound of that too much.

32,000 suits our needs.

Relegation struggles two out of 3 seasons, we are established as in we have been in the league 3 going into 4 seasons, but barring a miracle season, we have made hard work of it.

That attitude reminds me of this:

It doesn't suit the needs of all those that can't get tickets or even those that have to jump through lots of hoops and pay a premium for the privilege of being in  a draw for one.

And where were all these people wanting tickets when we were rotting in the Championship? Nowhere to be seen. I'd be looking for a few years of European football and more success before expanding, to ensure we can attract fans which will stay even if times do turn bad.

Might sound a little negative/defeatist but realistically a club of our size are always relegation candidates, Premier League trophy in the cabinet or not. We proved that last season.

32000 was considered too big by many when we moved from Filbert St.

As for where the fans were well being born, growing up, raising a family, building a career etc. Of course there will be fair weather supporters but you can't punish all the missing fans based on that.

We're  not unique attendances fluctuate at all clubs I've been there when there was 40k ish but I've also been there when there was only 9k ish.

I missed a lot of games in between when I was raising my family so I feel for those that now find themselves in a position to come and support but can't

On a serious note I prefer the Kop where it is. Wouldn't want to swap with the North Stand personally.

Still plenty of folk that would be happy to go and not rely on the points system and shoddy membership constraints though. Finance the extension to soften the blow.

if we do I understand utd Chelski citeh and the like will be all ticket. I never know till the day before if I could go. So for me knowing for some games we would have 1k pay on the day would be great. As it is now I don't even bother trying. But knowing we had a pay on the day I'd travel from Yarmouth.

I think "established" is a bit of a myth. Most Premier League clubs could crash and burn at any point.

As a non-season ticket holder at this point I think we could sell out 45k and would be grateful for the extra chance of tickets, I think we can afford it and it brings huge financial benefits so I do think this is probably a good time.

Exactly! You're only as safe as your last season we of all fans should know this as the ending of the O'Neal era will tell you.

Seems to me that some think that established means that we are unlikely to be relegated. I can only assume they haven't been following football for very long.

Already had this argument two seasons ago !! Realisticly we need more seats as it's way to hard to get a match ticket these days as 96% of home games are sold out across the premier league

Agree but from everton up really is not likely. Us sotton and everyone else yes. It needs to be said from Leicester up. We need to make it the big 8. Not 6 and everton but 8
