Milo Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 This might be common knowledge, but if not... We went to Legoland yesterday and before we bought tickets we had the whole Q-bots or not Q-bots conversation. Personally I don't really want to queue for an hour for a 3 minute ride, so we decided to buy the Q-bot ultimate for £80 each so for 4 of us would be an additional £320. Deep joy. Now, morality aside regarding social equality, and the elitism of jumping queues by paying...I think I came up with a rather genius plan. Like I said, this may be common knowledge for seasoned theme parkers, but we bought 2 Q-bot ultimates which give instant access onto the rides - the four of us went to the ride entrance, 2 got straight on and then we passed the Q-bot back so the other 2 could get on the ride. The longest we had to wait was a minute and we managed 15ish rides, rather than the 5 or 6 we would have managed otherwise. Still £160 down the khazi, I know. Please don't give me grief - I am generally quite socially aware and I suppose I could've queued shoulder to shoulder with my fellow man (and women, obviously*), as a protest against the unfairness of the elitist minority stepping on the hopes and dreams of the common man (and woman, obviously**) by pushing in just because they can...but...you know... My justification is that I paid an effing fortune to get into the place and anything I can do to maximise the cost/enjoyment ratio is ok with me. Thought I'd share as it may save a few quid for FT-ers planning school holiday days out. Anyone else done this? *and trans-gender, of course **see above
Strokes Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 Just go in term time and save yourself a fortune.
ramboacdc Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 your maths is wrong for starters but i did not know these things even existed! what a con!
lifted*fox Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 you seem concerned with people thinking that £180 is a waste of money and spending it on queue jump tickets makes you some kind of social elitist. trust me, I'm paying that extra £80 all day long, no guilt. **** queuing with everyone else. If it means I can squeeze 20 rides into a day instead of 5 then it's totally worth it.

Guest BlueBrett Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 Yo if you walk really close behind the person in front you don't have to pay for the tube in London either You can also hide in the toilets on trains and if you're a real Martin Lewis type you can even try flashing an old ticket when you get on the bus

They'll never catch you.
Wymsey Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 The fear of an accident happening like The Smiler ride incident and the rapids ride tragedy in Australia highly puts me off in attending theme parks.

When I worked at mcd's as a teen we had a lad do this, not realising his face is clearly seen on 3 different cameras before even getting to the window. Was arrested and charged with theft. Criminal record for some chicken nuggets, probably not worth it.

And going on 5 rides instead of 20 decreases your chances by 4:1
Jimothy Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 What if everyone buys them? Then the queue jump queues will be massive and not buying them will be the quicker way of getting on the rides.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 If there's a terrible accident on a ride, do you get saved first?
jonthefox Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 I went to Alton towers recently. The park was very quiet and the fast track queues were longer than the regular one.
Great Boos Up Posted 24 August 2017 Posted 24 August 2017 If it helps those parents with a developmental disability child and in my case autism. If you any valid documented paperwork then go through the gates at LEGOLAND and on your right there is a little secluded kiosk who will issue you a free Ride Access Pass. Basically you can cut the queue and even cut the Q-bots with a straight on the ride system. You get ten tickets. Obviously they ask you use it sensibly and don't re ride any attractions and it saved our lives. I did feel for the other children who had been waiting hours but otherwise LEGOLAND would have been hell on earth. I hope this post helps someone else in my situation. obviously check terms and conditions and enquire first.

I saw these - one small kid was blind and was using them, and another group of kids with carers had a big stack of them. Nice idea and I don't think anyone has an issue with these whatsoever
