Deal has fell through according to a source at the club how true it is no idea she did tell me once we were signing wellbeck on loan

Posted

Why do a majority of our transfers become long and drawn out?

Maguire is the only recent signing that seemed to have flew through with ease, so much so he signed and I didn't even see us linked to him - Perhaps that's why I thought it went through with ease, maybe it was ongoing for weeks/months but kept so secret that it seemed a quick deal.

(Or I just hadn't took any notice)

Then you should refrain from posting this kind of "news".

If the worst-case scenario occurs and Silva doesn't come, still have faith in King to fill in more.

He's got the experience to deal with the pressures, but James shouldn't be overlooked either despite just returning to the squad.

No. Just no.

Iborra was also the same in terms of the deal happening out of nowhere.

You should also learn this:

On this day in 1955, Sporting CP and Partizan took part in the first ever European Cup match. It finished in an epic 3-3 draw.

Sporting was one the first two teams invited by UEFA to play the first 'European Champions' game.

It had one of the most famous european teams at time, the called '5 violinos'.

5 violinos?? So you have been on the fiddle for years?

Perhaps, we as a Club are lacking in the person or persons responsible for drafting contracts/transfer administration and negotiating with difficult agents? It must be a mine-field these days requiring special skills.  Just a thought.

I expect Rudkin's resignation if it has fallen through.

i would get the sack if I made a £22 million mistake a work!

The post mortem, if indeed there is one, will be very interesting.

I know you say it with tongue in cheek...but if we really were interested and really wanted to show positive

intent with notions of striving forward then Rudkin and management, would of sealed his signature,

Well before window closure, or any DD business movement. I still class this Leicester business on Silva

as pathetic and embarrasing. There would of been squad space for both if necessary.

We have off loaded on loan,Mendy and Musa (I believe)

Midfield Squad choice of  DD/Silva/Iberro/James/Ndidi/ Amartey/King, wouldnt of been OTT, imo.

Your position conveniently ignores the fact that Rudkin wasn't in control of the behavior of the other sides. Chelsea came up with an acceptable bid late. Then Sporting changed the terms of the deal late. It is lazy to blame Rudkin based on nothing but speculation, especially with Sporting's management being difficult, well-known pricks. Late changes meant paperwork needed to be changed. Likely quite a bit of paperwork. Rudkin just had an outstanding window, we stole a march on Tottenham and got an incredible price on Maguire, we didn't engage in any of the overheated, overpaying BS other clubs did, we got 35 for Drinky, who we all really appreciate but who just about nobody would've paid 35 mill for, I mean, good outcomes left and right -- we added 6 players who could realistically start games for us.

If anything is pathetic and embarrassing, I think it is our posters crapping on Rudkin all the time without having any sense for his degree of responsibility for problems.
