I'll try again, because I don't think people can be bothered to read back very far. I very much doubt anything will be said to distract from Portugal's qualifier tonight - I think that would be a plausible explanation for nothing being announced yet.

We're not.  The next games are in October, at Andorra on the 7th, and at home against Switzerland on the 10th.

Going to go out on a limb here and say there wasn't much point in you trying again.... lol

So, it's definitely Rudkin's - or his cronies fault?

A target we've had for over one year, strike a deal with his parent club moments before the deadline and then, presumably, mess up the paperwork whilst selling arguably your best midfielder.

How is it not their fault?

They knew they were likely to sell Drinkwater, terms with the player and his parent club could have been done days, if not weeks or months ago, or maybe when Drinky handed in his transfer request and got 'injured'.

Desperation, poor planning and Jon Rudkin's fingerprints all over it.

Take away the league win, which has been proved to be a complete fluke and down to team spirit, how can anyone give Rudkin more than a 4/10 for the job he has done at the club since his promotion?

He is a fraud.

I prefer to know the facts - unfortunately I doubt they'll be made public should the deal fall through.

So you're not happy with the Iheanacho, Maguire, Iborra, Dragovic and Jakupovic signings?

For me, we've actually outdone ourselves in this window...

I honestly thought the January 2017 window would never be outdone for #RudkinBanter but if this transfer falls through he'll have somehow surpassed the Great Molla Wague Caper.

lol we haven't played any games since the end of the window. If your statement remains true in a fortnight I'll happily join the witch hunt. Hell I'll even stump up for the flaming torches.

It seems to me that the role of Chelsea and their DoF should not be underestimated. They failed to make a reasonable offer for DD, offering £15m then £20m. It was not until the last day of the window that Chelsea made an offer matching our valuation. We didn't have to sell DD but he had put in a transfer request. It then became a priority to sign Silva as DD's replacement. The last minute shenanigans could and should have been unnecessary had Chelsea made a fair offer 2 or 3 days before the deadline.

Why should they, their interest is to get the best deal for their club, not help us out. The issue is if it's that late just tell Chelsea to go and **** themselves unless there is certainty that we had the replacement wrapped up.
