But if () Sporting haven't registered him in their squad, they probably won't be able to use him until January. Silva could turn out to be the major loser here. Hopefully FIFA will do the sensible thing and give the international clearance. I'm sure Top can have a word... FIFA and sensible aren't two words that go together. In the Nice / Sporting case they rejected the transfer on the basis of it being 4 minutes late, despite the fact the process of uploading was started before the deadline. There are several things here though FIFA, who will play it by the rules. Then the appeals board, who do tend to be given a little more wiggle room to look at the details of the case. Nice for instance dropped their appeal and went to the arbitration board, during that hearing the board suggested they shouldn't have dropped the appeal as it would likely have ruled on their behalf. Essentially you can argue that there was a reason for the delay, in the Nice case there was confusion over the payers pay and they had to alter the contract which meant a delay in uploading. Nice fecked up though as they refused to pay the player, he was then forced to cancel his contract and become a free agent. IF (and it is still an if) we didn't get the documents uploaded in time. It looks likely FIFA will reject, but the appeals board could very well rule that it's fine after looking at the finer details of the delay.

talking_goldfish Posted 4 September 2017 Posted 4 September 2017 1 thing that won't hold this transfer up (a sort of Silva lining...) is that I have it on good authority from a friend of the photographer that the obligatory pictures were at least taken already, so there won't be any hold up with getting snaps of the player with the shirt after confirmation!

surrifox Posted 4 September 2017 Posted 4 September 2017 FIFA probably fancy showing their power - f****** us over would've a victimless crime to them
Sunbury Fox Posted 4 September 2017 Posted 4 September 2017 If this doesn't go through, our CM looks seriously vulnerable. If Ndidi gets injured, we are left with: a guy from Spain who's new to the PL, not used to playing in a midfield 2 and currently injured anyway; 2 squad players at best in King and Big Dan; and Matty James who is working his way back to PL level fitness. Eek.

ZeGuy Posted 4 September 2017 Posted 4 September 2017 Can't take anymore of this waiting. Someone bribe them already.

Abola Google translation: ADRIEN DOESN'T GO BACK Adrien will be a Leicester player even if the opinion of FIFA is not to validate his registration by the English Federation (FA). The agreement between clubs, predicting that the worst of the scenarios could happen, was in this sense, according to A BOLA, and was palliated the night of August 31 / dawn of September 1, when the market closed. Doubts remained in the air, from the moment it was learned that the process of leaving Adrien de Alvalade for Leicester lacked confirmation from FIFA: there being the possibility that the body responsible for football decides not to validate the player's registration, as would be the future of it? The data collected lead us in the direction of Adrien to go any way to England, even if to be able to play in the Premier League has to wait until January. According to this newspaper, both Clubs agreed that Silva will be a LCFC player even if the registration failed due to delays. Normally I don't trust portuguese sports press, but considering Augusto Inácio yesterday said Adrien Silva is a LCFC player [as I reported here], I believe. If true, is a matter of Adrien be allowed to play next weekend or only in December.
