Anyone know how we can get hold of The Lone Ranger to sort this out for us?

Reminds me of a long forgotten joke from my school days. What's the closest thing you can get to silver...

...the Lone Rangers Bollo@ks. Can't beat a playground joke.

There is an issue with the paperwork and the timing , FIFA have asked for more evidence of the time deals were agreed

player has returned to Portugal to tidy up some bits and pieces

BUT he will be back to be paraded at the KP Saturday

this is from "the cleaner" and the cleaner was spot on regarding Nacho deal

Hes returned to Portugal because hes on international duty.

After the 2hr extension was granted by the FA all the relevant paperwork was complete and submitted on time. Club did everything by the book and are confident transfer will be completed.

International break & other transfer cases are the only reasons why it's not been made official.

International Clearance.

i thought we all knew this.

So I understand this, LCFC were the only EPL club that signed a foreign player on deadline day that are still awaiting International Clearance??   Very odd if this understanding correct.  Quite smelly too.

The premier league is not the only league in the world ...........

had he been signed without extension then he would still be awaiting international clearance but would not be a publicised issue as no extension was required and there would be nothing for FIFA to check into. The FA administer the extension and FIFA have to acknowledge that this has been adhered to by checking with them and the Portuguese FA (plus a couple of sports lawyers) re timings etc. the club will have been told on Friday whether the FA's are happy or not - hence the announcement late afternoon that terms agreed. the clearance will come today and as I have mused for a while - if it comes with photos of AS in the daylight holding his shirt then it's likely the club requested it to be made public today rather than yesterday.

i cant imagine FIFA would have any reason to be difficult with us unless things have gone on at the end of previous windows that they are uncomfortable with and they will try and make an example of us to highlight it. even if this occurred, we would win an appeal but clearly it wouldn't be ideal - not so much for the club but for the health of some of you guys!!!!!

Only at Leicester City can we be still none the wiser over a transfer on the 5th of September,  that's the 5th of f******g September!

I know we joke about our club being unique and never doing things the easy way but this just takes the biscuit.

What is international clearance exactly? I thought tha because England and Portugal were both in the EU there should be no problem with free movement of people so I ask again, what is international clearance??

And the award for the thread with the most over reactive and emotional posts goes to...

Come on guys, just chill a little. There's too much over reaction to this transfer to say the least. Could be worse...could be Newcastle!!

Have to agree on the Newcastle point. What a money grabbing tw@t Ashley is!! Benitez must wonder why he bothered to stay there in the Championship only to be left unsupported in building a competitive squad. He's far too good a manager to be in that situation!

Not for this thread but I think Ashley is trying to sell the club.  Wonder if he has worked out that if it looks like it will be relegated he won't get the same price!

international clearance is a footballing matter. Both countries being in the EU is relevant re work permits not being necessary. It's procedure. We have announced transfers in the past during a window 'subject to international clearance' but this one is more relevant because it crossed the end of the window.

So had we faxed the paperwork at 10.55 he would be our player. But because we faxed it 2hrs later it takes a week to sort out.

Perhaps UEFA could make this whole deadline thing a little easier for everyone. My advice would be.

Don't close the window in the middle of an international break you fvcking Muppets.

I've heard it's being used as a political chess piece by that miserable **** who is negotiating with David Davis about Brexit.

"Unless you pay zee bill for withdrawl from the union I Vill not let Lessastar ceeeety have their new player whoah ho ho"

Davis "no,no,no I want access to the single market, a guarantee over current trade agreements, Germany to continue selling sweets called Spunk cause it's like well funny for us and UEFA to allow Leicester to have Silva in time for the Chelsea match. Oh and no extra tax on French Cheese."

My question was confined EPL Clubs.  As we know, some other leagues do have different window times.  If everything WAS allegedly performed 'on time' (notwithstanding the 2 hour extension), then this delay may not be as straightforward as many are claiming.  Hopefully, everything will be cleared up this morning.

"Spunk" is made in Denmark. The clue's in the name, had it been German it would've been named "ßchpunck":P

This talk of faxes reminds me of a joke:-

The Queen - "Oh bother!"

Butler - "What's the matter Ma'm?"

The Queen - "Charles is heading to Edinburgh University to give a speech but he has left it here on the table!"

Butler - "He's left for Edinburgh University without it? Fax it up Ma'm"

The Queen - "Yes, it does rather!"
