People who don’t love dogs belong on a register and prevented from going near schools.

There’s clearly something fundamentally broken inside them. I’d normally say treatment or therapy or support structures, but this is dogs we’re talking about so I think it’s best all round that they are separated from society. I’m not saying I believe they to be of the same stock as amoral drug dealers or sexual predators, but you know, if the hat fits?

Cat lovers are the kind of people who miss when going to the toilet and don’t clean up.

True fact: the cat is biologically related to the slug and the mosquito, which is why there should be a UN-backed eradication programme. And they should eradicate the cats too.

I have cats at the moment which are sweet, but we still spend substantial time talking about when we can buy a house and get a dog again :)

How can one not like dogs,  very strange. I understand not liking cats though.

Probably because they are most likely to reflect the shiteness of their owner and there's enough shitty people in the UK to equal enough shitty dogs.

That and y'know the occasional mauling people to death.

Cats kill wildlife though, and wildlife is better than people :)

Yeh, dogs are class. Would never have one as I’d rather spend a grand or so a year on wholesome pursuits like holidays, beer and football. Also quite sad how we’ve decimated a hunter wolf breed into a cuddly animal specifically bred for Instagram likes. But still, dogs are class. Thought everyone knew this

I'll be honest - and with all due respect to your opinion - I can't understand people who dislike dogs. Beautiful, loyal creatures.

Some are beautiful, some aren't. Especially little dogs that don't shut up barking whenever something passes them. Bigger dogs are more beautiful and don't need to make noise.

Most of the dogs I see are around central London. They're usually smaller and calmer, I guess because the owners live in the city. And without wishing to offend anyone those people are probably better educated and responsible than your average UK citizen.

When I go out in the sticks I see people with larger and more belligerent-looking dogs. They often reflect the owner. Those I don't like so much.

|s it more!!?!?! Or less...

In my view much more, depending on dog size. Roughly £250 a month for ours I bet. Food, treats, Insurance, Vaccinations, dog beds, toys, collars leads. Never ending - boarding when on holiday.

I was tempted to post "most of them are from outside of the UK so better educated".

I don't like dogs, and their owners can be total twats too

I quite like dogs, but agree that certain owners leave a lot to be desired. There are some good owners out there too.

What constitutes a good dog owner?

In fairness, dogs breeds are quite diverse. It’s a bit different having a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, to an XL Bully.

Toy dogs just have small dog syndrome and like to bark at everything and everyone. They tend to have massive separation anxiety issues, which doesn’t help.

I think your typically XL Bully owner, we can stereotypically state, isn’t looking at that dog as a fashion accessory, but as more of a weapon of intimidation.

I’ve had a fair few different dogs, from Shepards, Spaniels, Terriers, Dobermans etc. They all have different temperaments and training ability. It’s so much easier to train a German Shepard for example, than it is to train a Yorkshire Terrier.

Cats though, they’re evil. Not sure what the Egyptians saw in them.

P.S - Our current puppy is 19 weeks, knows how to sit, recall, walk on a lead, is semi toilet trained and his knows name. I don’t live in London, so I’m taking this as a win. He does love to growl at other dogs on the TV and his own reflection though. He doesn’t do this when he’s out walking.

Anyhow, here’s a picture of the little terror.
