Had a debate with my builder yesterday about whether Die Hard was a Christmas film or not.

We came to the conclusion that it wasn't a Christmas film at all, but an action movie that just happened to occur at Christmas time.

What about Die Hard 2 though?

Also, Home Alone is just a heist movie that happens to occur at Christmas.

I love winding people up when they so firmly believe Die Hard isn't an Xmas film, just being contrarian for the fun.

I've never thought of the Home Alone analogy before, though. Banking that for future use lol

And they think tennis balls are yellow.

This has just reminded me. I had a discussion some weeks ago with my wife over the colour of the moon. I know it can vary slightly due to atmospheric reasons, but she argued it was white, I said yellow.

At the time the moon wasn't visible, so we couldn't confirm who was right.

Now I've just remembered this, I must check when it is next out.

I’d say it’s neither and the moon’s colour is cream.

It's various shades of grey when you're actually viewing it outside the Earth's atmosphere, but yes, it can vary depending on circumstances when viewing it from inside that.

I hate transfer windows. Football was more interesting when you could sign players at any time until March. Outside of transfer windows all there is to do is moan about performances. Used to be able to talk about potential transfers all season. Football manager type games were 10000000000% more fun as well.

I'm quite pleased that Kylie made the Christmas number 1 above Mariah Carey (can't bear her voice or her songs) and Wham.

TBH I'm pretty fed up with same old regurgitated and repeated Christmas songs that get churned out over and over every year on every mainstream radio and supermarket "radio" channel.

I had this same opinion when chatting to a colleague. He labelled me 'Ebenezer' for being grumpy over the same old Christmas playlist.

My view is that there are literally 100s, probably 1000s of Christmas songs/records, yet the supermarkets and radio stations play the same 15 or 20 songs, year in year out.

Does my head in.

Imagine what it's like if you work in one such supermarket.

And Muppet’s Christmas Carol is just a surrealist anti-capitalist didactic drug trip about a guy hallucinating talking frogs and giant forgetful puppet versions of Brian Blessed that happens to occur at Christmas.

Not the greatest "xmas movie"....simply the best movie ever!
