Heatwaves are not good. I like it when the weather forecast is for fresher air.

Yep. Anything above 20-22°C is just too stuffy and humid for me.

I don't like opening the bedroom window at night either because I live right next to the river. The birds and wildlife wake you up at 5am gabbing and squawking like a bloody zoo.

The humidity is currently quite low though - simply because the temperature is above 22°C and set to rise to 30°C on Monday, it doesn't make it close. It's forecast to be 49°C in Death Valley this week, but single figure humidity.

Burton, right next to the Trent. Lovely for early morning walks this time of year. 2 min walk to the park and surrounding washlands. 10 mins and I'm in town.

Anywhere near The Elms?

One of my favourite pubs, that.

Yes just up the road from me. I like the Elms too, very nice pub in the main lounge area at the back.

And over here right now it's a little over 30 Celsius with 55+% humidity.

Fun.

20 degrees is fine anything over that is borderline harassment

Agreed. I love to have a chill edge to the weather, 17 or 18 is my ideal temp but am ok up to low 20s. I really cannot handle the heat. We're forecast for 35 end of the week, that's just f-ing ridiculous! I venture out to check the post but that's my lot.

I'd say 40 is my cut off for heat, anything less is fine. I spend a lot of time in a hot climate and I embrace the sunshine. Most days I'm outside and I'll do an hour in the mid day heat before slapping on the suncream.  I feel so healthy both in mind and body so bring it on.

This. Not sure why so many people cry about a few weeks of warm (not hot, it's not hot) weather in the UK. It'll be grey and raining again before you know it.

Because people like finding fault, and are conditioned to being miserable.

If I might ask, have you spent much time in a climate that is intensely humid as well as hot? It does add an extra challenge IMO.

Not compared to a lot of places, no.

But it will get hotter and/or more extreme, as will everywhere else.

Or they just don’t like hot weather.

I once spent 6 weeks in Key West in July/August and you could actually taste the air it was that sticky. It does add extra challenges I'll give you that, I still enjoyed it mind. The missus on the other hand, not so much.

Hayfever usually.

Or they just like cold weather!! Bring on the winter without its invisible misery

Yeah, I can imagine that wasn't all that pleasant.

It's like trying to breathe hot water right here at the moment - I don't think I'll ever get used to the summers here.
