I quoted you specifically because my skin generally starts to crawl as soon as anyone starts referring to women as "females" in most contexts.

That said, the entirety of my post wasn't aimed directly at you. It's more a general summary of how I feel about that thread in general.

Especially the absolute degenerate perverts that can't get enough of it. No names mentioned like @Miquel The Work Geordie @Raj @The Bear

I only like looking at pics of nice girls and maybe a few boys what's wrong with that??

The ‘Birds you fancy’ thread should be locked, locked again, and consigned to the deepest bin in the mod’s room.

Hard agree. Anyone who participates needs a word.

I just find the thought of some balding, overweight, 50+ year-old man sat in nothing but a pair of boxers a Leicester City shirt posting pictures of scantily-clad 20-somethings unappealing.

I’ve learnt to always move adjacent mirrors before opening the laptop.

You barely contribute to a thread apart from a couple of posts about Kirsty Gallagher with no images and you're branded a pervert. No wonder this once great country is going to the dogs

People who get precious about plot spoilers ought to make more of an effort to watch the thing that is apparently so important to them…or stay off social media until they have watched it. Expecting the universe to bend to your personal calendar is selfish and rude.

I thought it was incredible when snooker player Steve Davies climbed out of the space ship carrying a rocket launcher in Stranger Things.

Well...isn't that "interesting".

Edit: on the topic, I loathe spoilers but at the same time it's stupid to go near social media when you're looking to avoid them, especially if the thing is anywhere near popular.

Do people still try to avoid the football results before watching the highlights. The Likely Lads came unstuck hilariously back in the 70s.

The housing market in the UK is artificially inflated for political purposes (keeping a certain voter base happy) and the sooner the bottom drops out of it the better.

I kinda agree, I guess it's harder now cause shit just gets dumped in one go

Agreed on the first point due to vested interests by the voter base I think you mean having 2+ homes etc.

I'm really torn on the latter point as something needs to be corrected but I find a forced housing crash would be unfair on people who saved for ages to just about get on the ladder meaning they'd be on negative equity for years if the market bottomed out.

I can understand the consternation.

If there's another way for the market to correct itself and a little more fairness come about, then I'd be happy to entertain it and see it come to fruition.

Source?

Is it much more here than comparable countries? And would you take the average or the median cost of, say, a 3 bed semi to calculate it? Obviously London and the SE would skew any average figures for the entire country/countries.

And would utilities, etc be taken into consideration…you could probably buy a pretty decent place in rural France or Italy that wouldn’t be connected to the grid - so it’d be cheaper than the equivalent would cost here…but we don’t really have the equivalent here.

It’d be an interesting study to find out, but I can’t see how it would be possible to compare with so many variables.

https://www.longtermtrends.net/home-price-median-annual-income-ratio/

Apart from a couple of booms in the past (where the ratio never got above 6), since the early 2000's the ratio of average house price to average income has been anomalously high compared to the past. Now is as high as it's ever been (almost, anyway). And they have remained consistently high for that era in a way that they haven't in the past. That suggests that the market is being artificially inflated to me.

The second part of the sentence is an assumption I'm making, given that keeping asset prices high and therefore maintaining wealth tends to breed a loyal voter base among those who own those assets.

Of course there are numerous variables, location being a big one, and I've no doubt it's repeated in numerous places around the world. But it is my (unpopular?) opinion that in this matter lots of people are being rather screwed by the acts of a smaller group of people, and perhaps that needs to change.

There is nothing more insufferable than a new parent who acts as though they have invented procreation.

Your baby is, like all others, ugly, dull, and pointless - while at the same time being a complete drain on resources. Nobody cares about your birthing pool, stretch marks, sleeplessness or brand name infant clothing that’ll barely last the week. I’d rather spend a weekend in Hull than view your photos, thanks.

Really? Research says that about breast feeding? No, I didn’t realise you could get those for your nipples. Yes, I guess graduating to solids early does indicate they are operating on a different intellectual plane. Fvck off.

Well if you're a fan of schadenfreude the good news is that the new parents will get told of the best way to look after a baby over and over again by grandparents and friends. Every cloud and all that.

1. It's only colic, stop fretting.

2. No, wipe in the other direction.

3. Have you put little Obi-Wan's name down for the nursery yet?

4. He/she needs a sibling so forget about your vaginal tear.

If anything, my tolerance for children got worse when I started teaching. I share the same sentiments as above and am rather pleased that the vast majority of my friends don't want kids.

Anyway...this stuff about pubs closing. Good. Too fuching expensive and I'd rather have a few friends round to socialise than packing into an expensive, noisy venue full of people I don't want to be around. I want them to be replaced by spaces where you can just hire a room for a bit and enjoy people's company. Same goes for live music venues - sooner we decouple entertainment from expensive food and drink, the better.

I would include newly married women and their mothers.

At work, a woman I barely knew was 'showing off' pictures of her daughter's wedding. She then came to me and asked if I would like a look,  I said no thanks.

If looks could kill!

You've seen one set of wedding photos you've seen them all and it's even worse if you don't even know the people concerned.

Of course, social norms and niceties, would dictate I looked at them, pretend to look impressed, remark how wonderful the bride looks and ask one or two pertinent questions about the couple and guests.
