Finnegan Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 Has we ever had a more average footballer who'll still blatantly get a testimonial?

M0901 Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 Legend. Ultimate professional who stuck with us through everything. Managers have come and gone but through it all, King has remained. To win league 1, championship, and premier league title with the same club goes to show how well thought of he is. But it's clear he'll always have his critics, but he always does a solid job and he was a sensation in his younger years. He deserves every credit but unfortunately he won't.
Sambiasso Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 The only King that should have been buried in a Leicester car park.
urban.spaceman Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 Andy King. 10 years 11 seasons 8 managers 150+ teammates 369 appearances 61 goals 41 international caps (Leicester player record) League One winner Championship winnerPremier League Champion Champions League quarter finalist Not the best player in the world but an important squad member and big voice within the dressing room. He never sulks and always works hard when he's called on. He is the absolute definition of a Leicester City legend.
TiffToff88 Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 The rhyme scheme is all over the place, but its the thought that counts,,, Ode to Andy King: 10 Years to the day, We first laid eyes, On a future legend, His limit, the skies. Stuck by the club through thick and thin He's seen pure joy and painful heartache Always a true legend, draw, lose or win, goalscoring records, he even did break. 1st team chances are harder to find No moaning from Kingy, Keep that in mind from regular starter, to vital bit-parter Happy to wait in reserve, Loyalty in football is rare to see, A knighthood you deserve, Sir Andy, Take a knee.
rn9013 Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 Of course not the best footballer we've ever had, particularly in recent years. But what an incredible servant to our football club he has been and a decent bloke by all accounts too. I remember all too well those cold dark nights in League 1.....I think many seem to forget that the last few years have been somewhat an anomaly for our club-he is a club legend in my opinion. Thank you Andy King!
gerrytaggart Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 Andy King has won more league titles in the last 10 years than Liverpool and Spurs combined have managed in over a quarter of a century. #science.

Fox92 Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 Most of his goals were either superb or essential. The chip at Coventry was special. I don't think he's good enough to start for us but over the years he's produced some great moments - in good teams too - for us.

Soar Fox Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 The 2010/11 season was great, King making late runs into the box. Can't remember exactly but he must have been close to 20 goals that season. My favourite King goal was Blackpool away in our promotion season. Absolute belter from outside the box just a couple of minutes after we had levelled. Limbs everywhere in that away end.

Will be very disappointed if he doesn't get one. But let's not pretend he's been a key player for us at all in a very long time. He's not been consistently excellent since League One and the season after our Championship return.

You forgot the golden rule: You are allowed to criticize King only if you mention what a great servant to the club he's been.
GingerrrFox Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 Have a lot of respect for King in that he's been here 10 years and no doubt could have left in those first 2 years that he broke out. However he's not been a key part of the side since that first season back in the Championship and in reality he isn't good enough for us anymore. Saying all that though he comes across as a top bloke, he just shouldn't be starting anymore.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 There are a few sad comments on here. A player that has been here for 10 years, been utilised by each and everyone of our managers who have seen him day in day out. He isn't a superstar, but then superstars would have left like Stearman (HaHa) did, ok, realistically Kante did and Mahrez tried. He's given his all to the club, he never moans and always gives his best. He really deserves our utmost respect for being a top pro IMO.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 He's taken a lot of stick this season but his first time through-ball with the outside of the foot which led to the pen JV missed against Liverpool was WORLD CLASS
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 2 October 2017 Posted 2 October 2017 His performances since we rejoined the PL have really turned me off the bloke as a footballer. Don't rate him and didn't think he was special at the level below either (granted too good for League 1). As a person though he seems top class. Still, I'm a supporter of LCFC not his friend and seeing him stink out the middle of the pitch at this level while picking up massive wages grates.
