I'd love see what happens if one club actually stood up and said no thanks.

As it stands, Sky have to convince Tigers, Saracens and BT to move the game. 11 am kick off for us with 3 pm Tigers is even more madness.

To add we must resist this on the grounds of our players safety and welfare too. We play on 24th, we play on 26th and 30th. That extra day rest will be very important - particularly as training on Xmas Day will be solely recovery.

True. If we play on 24th then no chance we will play again Boxing Day.

3pm so that have to put ours at 11pm.

I think it's down to the Police now who've  previously sad no to both games on the same day. we've even had to move games to fit in with this much to the dislike by fans. if they now change their minds then that's an utter disgrace and bowing down to big business pressure.

I expect would be 11 am !

has a game ever kicked off that early ???

Is that a certain?

Managers before have moaned about Christmas fixtures being too close, if it is I'm glad as even though Watford away I was always going, not being on boxing day helps me out.

Christmas Eve is fine, we play on Boxing days and New Years day a lot so why should this be any different, if you don't live local.......tough.:D

We used to play on the same day but since they built the new stand the police won't allow it with the extra numbers attending matches in both grounds (and the closeness of them). The only time we have recently was 2011 because it was the final day of both seasons.

Isn't it also to do with paramedics, fire service, hospitals etc, any major incident or accident on a motorway or the like as well and they'd be too stretched?

Not forgetting  road traffic around the city and the time of year too.

Not certain, but I can't in recent memory remember two games been played with only one day rest for one side. Would be absolutely appalling if we were made to do that.

Sure we played Arsenal on Sky in the late 90s with an 11am or 11:30 kick off

And the fans also locked in?

If the fans Dont want it to happen then fair enough, but the clubs and players get hundreds of millions of pounds over the course of this new deal with sky/ BT so they cant possibly expect the schedule to suite them to perfection... There's no such thing as a one sided contract.

I'm sure we used to play at 11am on boxing Day years ago.

That was great as well, go football and have still have most of the day afterwards.

Christmas Eve is a nonsense though.

Pretty sure there was a ruling brought in that said earliest kickoff could be 12 o’clock

Yep completely agree

You can't play 2games with 1 day between them. That is a rule and also why Europa league teams play Sundays not Saturday. Our whole Xmas list will have to change.

Sure we used to play Boxing Day then the 28th on a yearly basis in the football league

Yes, I think they avoid it where they can (e.g. Europa League) but it's not impossible.

Even last season we played Saturday 31st December and then Monday 2nd January.

Not that I would even really care but does anyone else think sky may take offence to our push back and show less televised games going forward? Even though we are rubbish they still seem to love putting us on TV. Obviously United wouldn't be affected either way.

Suiting them to perfection would be only Saturday games. Since that has never been the case with TV games, it's never been a 'one sided contract'.

There is a line.

Mockery say it's not happening

It was never going to happen anyway, pretty sure even if sky picked it the police can and will have objected to it going ahead

therefore with no police the game can’t happen

Will this be sent to the club / will the club see this?

If this goes ahead for any club then there needs to be a boycott, but I guarantee there won't be. We're good at moaning but not actually doing anything in this Country.
