If it's a dull sounding game then boo hoo - but there's been dull sounding games that have been spectacular (highest scoring game in the division is I think Portsmouth 7-4 reading about eight years ago; who'd have picked that as a tv game?) and big games that have been crap. sky don’t pick games for entertainment they pick them for viewers. liverpool vs united ending 0-0 and being boring will get them more viewers than any other fixture ending 12-12.

We used to play on the same day but since they built the new stand the police won't allow it with the extra numbers attending matches in both grounds (and the closeness of them). The only time we have recently was 2011 because it was the final day of both seasons.

Yes we did but the police and council put a stop to it when we were in the championship. I guess more people travel by car and police manning is now quite stretched. I can't imagine what would happen if we had and filled a much bigger stadium. As an aside we used to play home and away against the same team on 24th and 26th with bigger crowds but again most people walked or cycled and only the well off travelled to away games, just to generalise.

Tigers capacity is bigger than it was a few years ago aswell
foxinsocks Posted 9 October 2017 Posted 9 October 2017 sky are crazy - no one wants to say to the missus... your sort all this stuff out I need to sit and watch Leicester play (- even in Leicester)

Corky Posted 9 October 2017 Posted 9 October 2017 I think we'll have the BT 5.30pm Saturday game to avoid the Tigers issue.

BT arent an issue it seems - Sky are the ones moaning because they are only contracted to show one Saturday game and they lose their Sunday picks.
lgfualol Posted 10 October 2017 Posted 10 October 2017 Yea not up for Leicester ruining my christmas with an honest brush ourselves down 10 nil loss.
Livid Posted 10 October 2017 Posted 10 October 2017 Only way this could happen is with one game kicking off around 11.30 to Midday and the other around 5.30. If it was the early kick off I would go, anything other than that and I would be watching it at home.

davieG Posted 10 October 2017 Posted 10 October 2017 Quote Premier League will not host 4pm kick-off on Christmas Eve, confirms chief Richard Scudamore as festive period broadcasting confusion continues Arsenal's home fixture against Liverpool is currently scheduled for December 23 But there is an increasing prospect that it will be put back 24 hours for television Leicester and Manchester United are being asked to play on Christmas Eve Richard Scudamore confirmed there will not be a 4pm kick-off on December 24 By Matt Maltby For Mailonline PUBLISHED: 13:03, 10 October 2017 | UPDATED: 13:24, 10 October 2017 The Premier League's chief executive Richard Scudamore confirmed on Tuesday that there will be no 4pm kick-off on Christmas Eve. Arsenal's home encounter with Liverpool and Manchester United's visit to Leicester — both are currently scheduled to take place on December 23 — are two potential matches that could be put back a further 24 hours so they can be broadcast on television. Sky Sports will announce the schedule for the next round of televised matches next week and it is likely they will schedule a game on Christmas Eve for the first time since December 1995. Liverpool will strongly oppose any move to reschedule match at Arsenal for Christmas Eve Leicester City and Manchester United are being asked to switch their game to Christmas Eve The prospect of the switch has left Arsenal and Liverpool furious — but Scudamore confirmed at a Football Supporters' Federation (FSF) meeting on Tuesday that there will be no late afternoon match. An FSF statement read: 'Premier League CEO Richard Scudamore commits to no 4pm KO on Xmas Eve following this morning's FSF Fans Group meeting.' Chelsea back fans over Christmas Eve fixture row: 'The club...Manchester United's trip to Leicester could be moved to...Premier League plan to stage Arsenal v Liverpool on...Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp urges Sky not to reschedule... Arsenal have concerns about the significant number of fans who will travel by air to the Emirates Stadium and there is also the prospect of stewarding issues with people being unwilling to work that day. Liverpool are strongly arguing against the prospect of a switch and believe it would be prohibitive for fans to travel to London, particularly with issues revolving around travel by rail and road. Richard Scudamore confirmed on Tuesday that there will be no 4pm kick off on Christmas Eve Arsenal fear they will be left short of stewards with few willing to work on Christmas Eve It has been reported that the last train to leave London Euston for Liverpool on Christmas Eve is 21.22 but that is not the case, with Virgin Trains yet to confirm their Christmas timetable — that will not happen until October 16. Sportsmail also reported last week that Leicester and Man United are being asked to switch their game to Christmas Eve as the broadcasting confusion over the festive period continues. Sky Sports are expected to announce the fixtures next week with West Ham against Newcastle also mooted. Liverpool are also fearing travel chaos with Virgin yet to announce their Christmas timetable Both Leicester and United hold serious reservations about the proposals and Sportsmail understands the Premier League would have to resolve logistical problems as well. Leicester have an agreement in place which states they cannot play on the same day as the city's rugby union side, Leicester Tigers. The Tigers have a huge clash with Saracens at Welford Road on Christmas Eve and questions remain as to whether that could be overcome. Leicester, who saw a match against Arsenal changed at a fortnight's notice in 2016, could also encounter staffing issues and there are likely to be safety misgivings. The roads would be a nightmare. This same issue caused me to have to pay £130 for a taxi home from a Boxing Day fixture a couple years back...But then it was my own choice to head to the pub rather than the train station at full time.
davieG Posted 10 October 2017 Posted 10 October 2017 From the Merc Leicestershire police will insist on a four-hour gap between City and Tigers’ kick-offs to avoid congestion, if the safety authorities approve the two clubs playing at home on the same day. If this 4 hour gap is true why have we had games moved before, surely they could have gone ahead at 12 & 4. Seems to me they are now changing the rules to suit Sky.
Simi Posted 10 October 2017 Posted 10 October 2017 What time does Tigers kick off? If that **** Scudamore has said no 4pm game, that doesn't leave a lot of time for our match to take place does it? Assuming the police want a 4 hour gap?

I think it's down to the Police now who've previously sad no to both games on the same day. we've even had to move games to fit in with this much to the dislike by fans. if they now change their minds then that's an utter disgrace and bowing down to big business pressure.
Guest MattP Posted 10 October 2017 Posted 10 October 2017 Shameful if we agree to this and it will show they are just making up the rules as they go along. Last thing I want to do on Christmas Eve is be going to the football.
MPH Posted 10 October 2017 Posted 10 October 2017 100k a week? should be ordered to play at midnight if thats what is required of them.... P
Foxes1 Posted 10 October 2017 Posted 10 October 2017 Trouble is nowadays clubs are eager to take the money off Sky, and no club has the balls to stand up to them.

I'd love see what happens if one club actually stood up and said no thanks. As it stands, Sky have to convince Tigers, Saracens and BT to move the game. 11 am kick off for us with 3 pm Tigers is even more madness. To add we must resist this on the grounds of our players safety and welfare too. We play on 24th, we play on 26th and 30th. That extra day rest will be very important - particularly as training on Xmas Day will be solely recovery.
