totally agree, people will moan and groan and it would be wrong to play xmas eve, but it will still be a sell out.

 

I imagine it would suit a certain age bracket Christmas Eve used to be a great all dayer in my early 20's

It's not our decision. BT have chosen the Tigers game before this one, the police won't allow a kick-off time compromise that suits, we've done nothing wrong.

A lot of people online saying that they would boycott. If it is us that gets the short straw, I think a bit of organisation between the Foxestrust, UFS, the large Facebook pages etc could see an effective boycott pulled off, just takes people to get involved.

We are playing the 30th Dec and 1st Jan this year. 

 

At the moment we are playing 2, 9, 13, 16, 23, 26, 30, 1 Jan and then 6th Jan. We will play 5 games in 21 days before 26th plus a potential League Cup fixture. Therefore to endanger our players any further when we already have a weak squad is madness. 

 

Add to that for Sky to move this fixture they have get BT and Tigers to complete alter their plans. With the four gap, the earliest time BT and Tigers would kick off is 4pm. Do BT and Tigers want their staff working until 8pm?

It wouldn't matter. Total ticket sales for the whole season is still waaaay under £15M in total. That is rougly one tenth of the money the club receive in TV revenue. They clubs and Premier League sold their souls to Sky a long time ago.

Well, if a boycott were to go ahead it would be symbolic rather than financial anyway because the vast majority of attendants are season ticket holders. Assuming they withhold their ST from being sold on, there'd be an empty ground. Doesn't look good for Sky or the club.

 I understand that but Sky always bang on about how the fans/atmosphere make the games. It'd be interesting to see what'd happen if no away fans turned up or the whole attendance was a lot lower than usual.

I'd be firmly in the 'staying at the local and not selling my season ticket on' camp if it went ahead. Thankfully, the Tigers game means there's very little chance of it happening.

Even if 5 thousand boycotted, it would go unnoticed, a boycott would only work if everyone did it, and there is absolutely no chance everyone would do it. Plus even if everyone stopped at home and dint go they would watch it on sky anyway so it defeats the objet really.

 

The club wont get involved, they will fight it behind the scenes and i imagine the police would be on the clubs side but it would never be publically shared.

 

I like the enthusiasm and the stance against Sky but the fans will never win the stakes are far too high for the club to get envolved and there are far too many fans that really dont care when LCFC play they are just happy to be there.

Does anybody think Sky would give a flying fook if no one turned up, just another "breaking news" story for them....sadly. It has to be done at club level and we'd be subject to all sorts of sanctions if we refusedd to cooperate....however, if Manchester United were to withdraw , that would work....wouldn't it

I completely forgot about the game on New Years Day this year. When you said 1 Jan it rang no bells. Maybe I have only planned fixtures until end of Dec so far this season.

The decision to add a subtle smidgen (spade full) of ginger, it kicks in mid swallow and reverses the direction of flow, the blatant lack of promised cherries (they somehow go AWOL between the tub and the mixing bowl...hic), and the sheer amount of cinnamon involved (50% of people say it's too much the other 50% are rendered incapable of expressing an opinion on it at all.)  Makes the house smell Christmasy though.
