And why can’t puel do this?? he got top 8 and league cup final just came up against Man U rather then tranmere and the were unlucky not to win it! Ranieri tried to put the reins on - they didn't wanna know. Shakespeare tried to put the reins on - they didn't wanna know. I suspect that Appleton told them to go out there and let loose / express themselves and we performed much better. How are they going to react to yet another manager trying to put the reins on? I am led to believe that the owners have a target which is more ambitious although Puel maybe Plan B - I for one would be disappointed with Puel as he was very dull and very inflexible at The Saints plus he would definitely change the style completely which I think in the short term will be a challenge. As few have said he has better attacking players here.... and to be fair last season was one of those games where if Southampton had a better strike force they might have battered us... if he comes in we will have to get behind him and hope for the best I suppose!
