What exactly do the owners want?

Think they want the obvious which is success that all clubs strive for but i dont think they know how to implement a framework for implementing that and have relied on duff information from middle management for too long.

They've improved the club significantly since they came, and can't fault how much they've done; however, it's rare that they speak publically about anything relating to club matters, and genuinely feel that they should do occasionally.

Top 10 by the end of this calendar year so they can focus on a cup (as a route into Europe) without worrying too much about relegation in the 2nd half of the season

They, well Top, said this before the season.

I presume they want to hog the trophy in a parade around Wembley in front of the King's picture

There are a sizable number on this forum who seem to delight in talking down LCFC. ie we are not a big club, no need for a bigger stadium, lets go back to where we belong, Whereas I detect that the owners have loftier ambitions for us. The Premier League win was totally unexpected and magical of course but notwithstanding I do think their aim is for us to be competing at the other end of the table on a regular basis. They have the firepower to help us do that and the value of the worldwide recognition they get for being in this league is of considerable value to the King Power brand.

The owners have been very successful in business and I don't believe they put any artificial ceiling on where the club can go. That is exciting for me as someone who has been supporting the club for 50 years and I never want to go back to Championship football... ever.  To be a Leicester supporter at this moment in the clubs history is fantastic and what the club have achieved over the last few years is remarkable. Lets face it Chelsea were just a mediocre London club until Abramovich appeared and Man City were the permanent bridesmaid to United. Now where is my Champions League scarf!!

They want to be stable in midtable without s relegation battle to start with, they would then want to build from a solid base. With us flirting with relegation the chances of committing to an expansion are unlikely.

If the owners are at all grounded realistically the club needs to progress on a stable and planned basis

Big names are not necessarily the answer the club needs someone to restructure a bit like Pearson get rid of negative and thoroughly incompetent senior members and move onwards and upwards

We are an ambitious club with great support some very good players but the likelihood of shooting one in the foot

Rudkin out asap

Chelsea were the second best club in London for at least the most recent five years prior to Abramovich showing up. Always remember them finishing between 3-6 in the late nineties/early noughties. Not exactly mediocre.

No, but funded by Mathew Harding.

They said the target for this season was to be safe enough from relegation to have a go at the cup.

As others have said, I think their overall aim is self-promotion...but in footballing terms I think it's setting us up as a more established PL side.

Basically they want to be able to look at the table mid-December every year and feel fairly confident we won't be in a relegation scrap.

That way, they can start to plan a bit more rather than this ad-hoc firefighting every season.

Whether it happens is another matter. It's not like we're the only ones striving for it.

Only the Rudelphic Oracle can divine what the gods on Olympus intend for us mortals.

We really don't get a lot from the owners that clarifies their motives and intentions as individuals, I'm sure because that suits them just fine.  They clearly aren't ego-driven (thank the gods), and they operate in a world where visibility must be balanced with discretion.

So the question "Where, exactly, do Leicester City owners see this club going?" remains one we would all like fresh perspective on.  "Compete for European places" is anodyne and stale.  Too bad the article is a mishmash of unsubstantiated statements which could easily have been plucked from recent days on Foxestalk.  If only the journo had actually got an interview with the Srivaddhanaprabhas and got an answer.

Meanwhile I'll keep constructing my own narrative and arguing it with y'all on here

You have a very, very short memory. Go back a few years more.

Probably because I was about four years old before then.

So for you the entire history of the game can be traced back to when you were conscious of it?

Interesting, someone informed me yesterday that England actually won a World Cup in '66. I had no idea whatsoever, but then in my defence, I hadn't been born then.
