Thought he did well last night, gets his foot in just wish he was quicker. I'm certainly rendered confused how we ever thought he was a no.10

Silva, Ndidi and Maddison should prove to be a good enough midfield for us going into the next season with Iborra, Barnes and Choudhury as cover with the latter two on the assumption they continue to develop as well as they have.

We didn't.  He is a midfielder and was signed to replace Drinkwater.

Maddison is a no.10

I thought Silva played very well tonight.  He kept possession well, passed the ball, ran into an open position for a return pass, didn't hide, always made himself available for a pass.  That's his role in the team.  I hope he plays like that for us next season.

Apparently underrated qualities here.

Good to see him doing well and I'm just glad that the 14 second fiasco didn't stop him from getting his chance at the World Cup.

With reference to your first point, I believe I saw a lot of people on this forum that did say that. I Didn't mean the club thought that when signing him.

no.10, tip of the diamond whatever you want to call it, is just an attacking midfielder. Yes he'll stay up a fair bit but will track back when we need him to.

OK, fair enough.

I call the no.10 position a forward but I suppose we're splitting hairs.

The '14 second fiasco '... Perfectly describes my sex life!

I was particularly impressed with this. Rarely seen a player so meticulous in passing then immediately finding space, acting as a central pivot. Surely he's cemented a start in their next game. I hope so - very interested to see play him against a better team.

Dip your wick in mouthwash before you start. Won't actually numb the little feller, but the 30 seconds getting the ****ing top off counts as foreplay and you'll more than triple your PB.

Hopefully still a lot more to come from him. Bit of patience is needed, only played 15 times for us!

He has definitely struggled to adapt to the pace and physicality of the Prem, and think he even alluded to it in a recent interview.

He's no mug though IMO, and you don't get to start for Portugal in the WC if you are. He has a lot of qualities and I just hope he comes back fired up for next season, as we are going to need him to be.

I do think he's probably a bit of a glorified water carrier - in the sense you could play him in a lot of good sides but without being one of their notable players. Someone who helps others tick rather than grabs the headlines himself.

The idea of playing him at ten is baffling to me.

I think it was just FT members grasping at straws

he was the least worst option before Nacho got fit and started performing at the end of the season

He was very tidy last night and kept himself and the ball moving throughout. He was a tad lateral in his passing and movement; however  I'm pretty certain he was efficiently following instructions.

He is however far slighter than I ever realised. So whilst he should technically shine in the Prem, I wonder whether he will get outmusceled in the middle of the park.

Similar to this obsession on here with playing three at the back.

Genuinely interested as to why you don’t fancy that. We seem to have the players for it bar maybe another CB and it probably allows Chilwell to be used without getting too exposed defensively.

Love that WiFi on the right, when on form we always get a good reception and it sends a strong signal to the opposition that we mean business

We need to get WIFI up to speed first though.

Personally I think we need a broader band of choices to support Silva in midfield... Just to find that right connection.

Ok, I deserved that one, that's predictive text for you.

It's not often anyone beats Seller for the jokes, but this time he I have to give it to Houston. I'm still laughing.

brilliant from both of you.
