Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 January 2018 Posted 29 January 2018 Besiktas have bought two strikers so of all the links Newcastle seems the most viable. Don't think he'll be off, mind.

He's since scored 4 goals in 2 games and looked the boy and now Puel is going to loan him out? Absolute pony. Hardly a concrete link is it. Maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt before we start moaning..

Newcastle linked to Sturridge and the PSV player, there doesn't appear to be any clubs negotiating with Slimani and Leicester about a move in the next 58 hours.
sphericalfox Posted 29 January 2018 Posted 29 January 2018 (edited) Nacho is going nowhere. Saturday was evidence that should we need it that Vardy be rested/suspended/injured that he can step up or be much more effective. Lad just needed some confidence and some feeding. With Silva and Iborra, both himself and Vardy are not going to go hungry. Edited 29 January 2018 by sphericalfox 1
Kitchandro Posted 29 January 2018 Posted 29 January 2018 To me Saturday just reinforced my belief that he’s an exceptional finisher and absolutely nothing else. I can’t have him on my mind playing Premier League games, you need to offer far more than that. 1
justfoxes Posted 30 January 2018 Posted 30 January 2018 Really hoping this lad is going nowhere as he looks like he has a real bright future ahead of him, it’s just a confidence thing about him by the looks of it and Puell needs to bring that confidence back !! Those two goals on Saturday were superb well taken and well executed so let’s keep him and not lose out by sending him elsewhere!

So, he’s a centre forward who’s good at scoring goals... it’s dentinitley a step in the right direction isn’t it?

I was saying that there's no way he'd be let go. Puel said he was staying a few weeks ago when he wasn't even getting a sniff. 4 goals in 2 games later and now he's supposedly off? It's rubbish, not happening.

His off the ball movement and link up play has improved since he's had a few goals, the question is now can he improve on it against top class opposition. 2

With the right support and the right tactics he could be one of the most lethal strikers in the prem. If we don't give him that people will say he's been "found out".

Unlikely as 2 of the 3 are Albrighton and Okazaki in the league.

I think he’s starting to find his feet- he’s looked a lot livelier since his first goal against Fleetwood, getting into better positions and movement is much more intelligent. Him and Vardy will never work together, but at least we’ve got someone who can be a threat against the weaker sides so we don’t need to burn Vardy out as he ages, with a view to being his long-term replacement.

Yeah he will be better suited with Gray and Diabate, although Albrighton still links up well and can press. Okazaki needs binning for a while, can't remember the last good game he had for us. Think it was Southampton away, been honking since which is odd as he kept getting dropped after good performances but since he's been guff he's cemented his place in the team.

I think that's because he still creates a lot of problems for the opposition when we're looking elsewhere. 1

Certainly sounds like he’ll do and say the right things but he wants the heck outta here and I don’t blame him. Nacho is not accept 2nd place to Vardy or any of our strikers. I hope we can keep him but I doubt he wants to stay anymore.

Apologies, I thought the last phrase was a commentary on our transfer policy.
