90 minutes website just reporting Newcastle interested. They can all fvck off. He's ours.

Course they're interested, can't see Ashley stumping up the £50m for him though can you?

Couldn’t blame him as he’s not first choice. But I can’t see it. He must’ve known that he’s behind Vardy when he came. This lad’s the future ??

His contract runs out about the same time that vardy ceases to be first choice ! Not exactly true but the point is the same. He wants to play and it’s going to be very difficult for us to give him enough game time unless we qualify for Europe.

Why, Puel has given the lad an opportunity and he's shown he has delivered. Why is it a given Vardy starts every prem game when most of the other players get rotated?

I'm a fickle bastard, at the start of the window I'd gladly have sold him but a few goals against lower league opposition in the cup and now I'm a fan again lol

Rotated?

kasper - nope

maguire - nope

morgan - nope

ndid - nope

mahrez - nope

vardy - nope

more than half the team have yet to be rotated/dropped for the PL . Kelechi has only been given a chance in the cup games. Vardy has come off in a couple of PL fixtures and KI hasn’t come on.

Assuming Vardy continues to start consistently for us for another two years.

Btw, I’m not saying I agree that vardy never gets rotated. Against certain sides I think it would make sense to give him a rest and to change our style

I think up until what I think was the Fleetwood game, where slimani was pulled Puel didn't know which striker he was keeping. Then came the statement that nacho was staying and now he scores another brace and to add to it looked to link up with Diabate like they've played a season together. Puel looks to be a good man manager, he's also says (from what I've read) he wants to give nacho more game time, he must be thinking he needs to give Nacho so game time in the first 11, so he either plays him with vardy or drops vardy

Massive backtrack from me but we shouldn’t sell him. If we figure out a way to get him alongside Vardy we have two fantastic finishers.

I love Vardy but there will be a time we have to try something different.

Do we give Nacho a run of games? And use Vardy as an impact sub? There's a chance in the long term he's better than Vardy?

Last thing I wanna see is a player leaving and fulfilling his potential elsewhere.

It'll be interesting to see what Puel's does, good problems to have though.

Don’t think we’ve played Iheanacho up top with Vardy apart from that friendly for his debut. My memory is a bit cloudy but didn’t he get an assist for Vardy & then got injured a little later In the match & we never saw them partner up again????

Would be nice to give them a few games together & see what develops.

If Nacho develops too quickly, Man City will just take him back at any time. It would be a real shame if we eased off our reliance on Vardy to building a team based around Nacho, only to have him taken off us suddenly. The buy back clause lasts 4 years, do we try and pace his development keeping him below the threshold of being worth Man City buying him back? 50m is nothing to them, particularly considering inflation over those 4 years.

Have we  tried him in the middle 4-2-3-1 behind vardy ?

Might be proven to be wrong, hope I am, but I just don't see Nacho in any position other than a 9 right now. He is a natural finisher, that's his biggest attribute, drop him behind a striker and it's castrating a huge part of his game. Okazaki runs himself into the ground pressing, breaks up play when we lose the ball up top. Slows down the counter-attack against us and links the play when he's not on his backside. The main criticism of Okazaki, although this season he has been better is he doesn't score enough which Nacho would be an upgrade on, but everything else that Okazaki does is not really in his game yet. If he could be coached to do all that, and he's still young enough to be able to possibly then we would have a heck of a player. Just can't see it coming quickly and a lot of the fans would be on his back calling him a flop while he was learning to play that role, it wouldn't come overnight.

It's good to have 2 number 9's with different strengths. Gives Puel another viable option up top. As others have alluded to, maybe he'll be a better choice in some games. One thing that it definitely does do is give the opposing manager something more to think about - does he setup to defend the ball in behind for Vardy or defend the balls played through the midfield and wide men for Nacho.

I hope he continues to improve and gives us that second option.

Cross Shinji and nacho and you get a Suarez/Sanchez type player.

Shinji will never be a finisher like KI and he will never be able to press and harry like Shinji does

Well he can’t go out on loan we need him,as it looks like the decision as been made with Slimani, tough shit he stays and fights for his place,Puel picks on merit,so he has a chance here.
