Calling him

Nigel.

lol ....    If he doesn't seem happy with that you'll have to call him Claudio ....     Then again if he starts acting up next year call him Craig ...       But even if he likes Craig and behaves impeccably, change it again to ...   ?

Well his full name is going to be Nigel Pearson but I didn't want to mention it as some people might cry or say something hilarious like "why? are you assuming he is going to be an insufferable arrogant bellend"

I've taken my Husky off of his medication after figuring out he has got progressively worse while on them. Shortly after I find out he shouldn't even be on them tablets and they have made loads of dogs worse.

Hoping he copes ok without anything but I'm not holding my breath, very stressful.

Have you checked the parents hip score,my sister bought one four years ago without checking

and have had many problems.

She looks an old dog when she walks (not my sister) and struggles to get up.

Thanks!  Yes indeed, KC assured breeder with 16 years experience (our pup is her 23rd litter), very good hip and perfect elbow scores.  Met both parents at the breeders residence, they are local, we use the same vet already.  We have been very thorough.

Anyone selling dogs and who is likely to be making a profit (over 750 per pup is likely to be making a profit- there are many variables though) requires a local authority license. I would only ever get a pup from a licensed seller.... KC assured breeder is just as good, but with no real legal basis.

Only if they breed more than 5 litters a year I think.  The breeder we have gone with breeds fewer than that.  I wanted a breeder who keeps her bitches once they are done breeding, which is practically impossible if you run a commercial licensed operation.

For those who don't know, I work with dog law. The 5 litters max (will soon be reduced to 3) a year only applies to "hobby breeders" who do not make a profit (any profit, not just a big one). Breeding establishment licenses do not just apply to puppy farms, but ANYONE who makes a profit, and therefore is running a business regardless of the number of litters. If they have a KC assured breeders accreditation, then they would meet the Council's criteria to be granted a license, but they would still need one.

Unfortunately, some councils (including Crawley, my old Council are so lax with their licensing function, that they don't enforce this rigourously- hence the number of poorly bred dogs out there.

This is what you get if you're being a prat in my patch. These puppies were very badly reared, and probably came from a puppy farm (judge's words, not mine). He appealed, and the judge acquitted him of the sale in a public place offence, but the sentence was upheld and the costs increased to 6000 quid to be paid 100 pounds per month.

Interesting stuff.  It's clear that people still buy dogs from the wrong places, so anything that helps reduce puppy farming etc has to be a good thing.
