What things that are ludicrous now, will become culturally acceptable in the future.

Yeah I think eating meat is the next big thing to be a taboo but as others have said it will be at least 2/3 generations away (hopefully).

As for cultural acceptance, it could be deemed socially accpetable to do ALL socialising online, not leave your house for months and become self contained by way of working from home / ordering everything online / socialising from home (albeit I know its technically possible to do all three already).

This is a good one.

Things like conversation could become rare as technology takes over, I think a large part of the population will become hermits - especially if UBI arrives.

If anyone hasn't read this book it's absolutely fantastic. Mind blowing.

That's a short story I read at school called 'the machine' which is set in a dystopian future where humanity lives underground in pods, only communicating by remote means. I always think of that when presented by this sort of vision of the future.

I certainly agree it'll be most likely everyone becomes Vegetarian, research seems to suggesting its far healthier for the human body although I feel this is more to do with financial interests of Veg/Vegan based companies.

There is research that suggests consuming less meat during pregnancy results in a higher probability of their offspring abusing substances.

I didn’t post this as a negative in any way, shape or form, and I hope people didn’t read it as such - I think that with the advent of girls playing football at school - which didn’t happen when I was at school - and the boom of women’s football in general, it may well be normal that women play for professional men’s teams in the future.

I'm not sure about it being something that is commonplace. Ultimately they'll still face the same physical barriers that prevent them playing uni-sex versions of other major athletic sports. Skill isn't the issue, or at least won't be as numbers of participants continues to rise, but physicality is a huge differentiator between female football and male football at all ages.

I suppose a small number of particularly physical women could make it in the men's game but they would be the huge stand out physical specimens - the Serena Williams of football - a once in a generation player. Perhaps a goalkeeper might find it easier.

What I definitely think should have happened already is women and men playing skill based shorts together. Snooker, pool, darts etc.

Things like this to me suggests we haven't even scratched the surface, all I know is too much of anything is bad and that's all I follow

I believe there will be an inverse relationship between genetics and humans différences. Genetics will get people around a certain idea of how they would like to look or even change shape and colour at will and that will be the death of all the old systems based on race and religious supremacy. I would love to be around and see my local butcher, a pardoned terrorist and Albaghdadi lookalike, changed into something, anything. At best, into Kournikouva holding a raquette instead of a meat cleaver.

Being able to fly by having wings.

Would save diesel/petrol concerns, but obviously requires more research into safety and reliability etc.

What about fish? My wife loves the stuff and ate it all the way through pregnancy. My daughter loves wrecking stuff, YouTube and appears to be quite shy with strangers.

I think the wider issue there is our improving understanding of the human mind and whether or not we really have free will. If we discover beyond doubt that in reality people have limited ability to control their own behaviour then are current punishments fit for purpose? It may be that in future we view punishing people for crimes they had no control over as barbaric as punishing people for being physically disabled.

Interesting perspective, but you could argue that if they are literally unable to control themselves, they need to be locked up indefinitely.

Yes that's the area that requires the most research

Absolute rubbish you pair ...   what we really should be researching is developing transporters ...    we know it can actually work cus I’ve seen it on Star Trek, so it’s just a matter of getting it sorted ...

Really hope not but I can see the men are trash brigade growing. They lack even a modicum of self awareness and if they did they’d know they’re undermining actual feminism.

I can see the day when a member of the Royal Family is kidnapped and the Prime Minister is forced to have sexual relations with an animal in order to secure her freedom.

Felching. In the future you will have bars where instead of a glass you will have arseholes.

All bars are already full of arseholes, often  2 to a seat. It will be interesting to see if drinking becomes socially unacceptable - highly unlikely - or whether bars die out as people move into a more solitary existence socially mingling in a virtual capacity as the internet (and whatever it evolves into) removes the need for people to leave the place where they live.

I think a Men’s Equality movement will gather force as men look to be able to leave the toilet seat up and be allowed to put the milk back in the fridge in the wrong place

I know you were being humourous but I reckon you're right and a Men's movement will evolve to counteract the women's revolution.

The use of toilet roll will be replaced by a system involving 3 Seashells

Enjoyable film. On a serious note though toilet roll is archaic as is our hygenic system. I'm pretty sure that it will be completely overhauled in the not too distant future. and of course using trees, which will be classed as sentient beings, to wipe your arse, will become as unacceptable as using slave children to clean your clothes.

People will realise that technology and society has moved them away from the real life connections they need to be happy, and a movement will come to help us leverage the robotic revolution to ensure we spend more time with out family and friends, and our wider communities, redefining home from our four walls to our village, suburb or community.

Nah. Technology, robotics and AI will allow middle and upper classes to work less (or not at all) and give them far more time with their families and children - this in turn will lead to more adultery and family violence and community breakdown or the setting up of alternative communities.

It's likely less children will be born as better forms of contraception (and hopefully some forced contraception) are developed. Adults will have many more short-term partners and relationships will become more hedonistic. Family will need to be redefined.

Bit of a contraversial one this but potentially the acceptance that society needs to deal with pedophiles in a different way, allowing for a platform to have them overcome their 'life long illnesses' for want of a better term rather than pushing people to a darker realm of the society and abuse.

Admittedly (and gladly) I have no idea on the thought process of a pedophile and its not really a subject thats comfortable with a vast majority of people but the problem needs a rethink in order to achieve a better solution in the future.

Paedophiles and many criminals will be genetically modified. We already understand the dna well enough to doctor it. Babies will be genetically modified or simply grown to order.

Self-driving alternate powered vehicles will change the world if the evolved internet doesn't make transportation unnecessary. As I said above I don't think people will need to move in order to experience (as if in situ) anything on this or other planets. But if that is not the case alternate powered vehicles that self drive would mean that transport can be re-invented. you could basically move at incredible speeds (reducing the effect of distance) because the transport can move almost touching without a worry for braking etc... in a vehicle that is like a room in your house. You could sleep in a bed as you move or read or play tennis, or even work - until we get that obstacle removed - the road system which takes up so much space could be simplified.

In short I see the possibility of living anywhere you choose with so much free personal time and with a greatly increased lifespan but I don't see that you'll be able to eat any living organism and man will have to find vicarious or dangerous pastimes to alleviate problems that genetics are not allowed to modify.

I've never slept in a virgin.

The difference is this bed will be yours and designed to give you the best sleep possible.

Using a petrol or diesel car will be frowned upon.

Society will generally become more unfriendly. People get all the interaction with others they need through their social network. Speaking to someone who you don't know will be something treated with increasing suspicion. Far right groups, marginalising certain groups in communities will become more common, as the suspicion around strangers grows through worsening communication skills.

The next generation of new parents will be far more switched on to the dangers of social media and the exploitation of teens (and younger) will hopefully decline.

Agree with the comments around meat eating, I can see that happening.

There will also be a need for international law governing use of the internet.

Housing will continue to be a problem.

Police, nurses and social workers will get huge pay rises to combat a recruitment crisis.
