What things that are ludicrous now, will become culturally acceptable in the future.

I certainly agree it'll be most likely everyone becomes Vegetarian, research seems to suggesting its far healthier for the human body although I feel this is more to do with financial interests of Veg/Vegan based companies.

Slight issue is how do they deal with the livestock? can't just release them into the wild and certainly can't just kill them all off if suddenly everyone is angry about the death of animals.

Hopefully when everyone has gone veggie they'll start eating the humans.

After the successful arrival of VAR the FA decide that Football will no longer be played out.

Instead a panel consisting of 3 ex Liverpool player, 2 Ex arsenal players and Jermain Jenas will decide who wins games.

Liverpool win their first title in 48 years, and Spurs come 3rd (again).

Respect your opinion, but I would be very surprised if Granny Smith and King Edward are spreading such rumours.

The reason the world will become more vegetarian is more to do with environmental then health/animal welfare factors. The consumption of insects will certainly grow too.

I am interested to see what happens with the burden of proof on sexual assault crimes and the like as you mentioned @MattP. I believe Sweden have already done so, or at least have plans to do so. I would never agree with reversing the burden, but the issue does still need addressing in some shape of form so it will be 'interesting' to see how it is dealt with.

Not buying into the meat eating dying out idea. I work with kids and notice less and less vegans or vegies now than I did ten years ago. Meat is viable and is so instilled in the economy that the small percent of the population that are vegans will struggle to gain any real momentum with their protests. I think we'll definitely see better ways of eating meat come to fruitiin, that are more humane and more economically viable.

"The number of vegans in Britain has risen by more than 360 per cent over the past decade, according to a new survey that shows record numbers of people are avoiding food derived from animals.

Some 542,000 people aged 15 or over – more than one per cent of the population – have adopted a plant-based diet, up from 150,000 in 2006. According to the Vegan Society, the survey proves that veganism is now one of Britain’s “fastest growing lifestyle movements”.

The poll of almost 10,000 people, carried out by Ipsos MORI in for the Vegan Society and Vegan Life magazine, is the largest ever aimed at quantifying the number of vegans in Britain.

The perceived health benefits of a vegan diet are thought to be driving the trend. Advocates of plant-based eating say vegans typically have lower levels of cholesterol and blood pressure, a lower body mass index, and reduced risk of death from heart disease and cancer. Environmental and welfare issues are also contributing to the swelling numbers turning away from food sourced from animals."

Where there is interest comes financial opportunity.

Definitely environmental reasons will come into play - I'm often confused why it isn't a big discussion between world leaders in the first place if it has the affects on the environment we seem to be told.

Women players in the Premier League

Without wanting to sound controversial or anything BUT i think you of all people who often post in the 'COOKING' thread would be less subjective about women playing football. Not that i watch women playing football nor do i contribute to the cooking thread, but i find your post hmm whats the word i am looking for... :D

Unaware that the condition of one's lower extremities had anything to do with leadership or the mind.

If that was the case than Franklin Delano Roosevelt would have been a shit president; instead he took the U.S. through WWII.

Which one? 1942, 1943, 1944, or 1945?

Granted, FDR died in April 1945.

You're right I mis-spoke, I have corrected the OP.

I didn’t post this as a negative in any way, shape or form, and I hope people didn’t read it as such - I think that with the advent of girls playing football at school - which didn’t happen when I was at school - and the boom of women’s football in general, it may well be normal that women play for professional men’s teams in the future.

Bit of a contraversial one this but potentially the acceptance that society needs to deal with pedophiles in a different way, allowing for a platform to have them overcome their 'life long illnesses' for want of a better term rather than pushing people to a darker realm of the society and abuse.

Admittedly (and gladly) I have no idea on the thought process of a pedophile and its not really a subject thats comfortable with a vast majority of people but the problem needs a rethink in order to achieve a better solution in the future.

I can't see this, females have been playing tennis with the same facilities and coaching as the blokes now for 30-40 years and even Serena, the greatest of the all, was hammered when she took on a male player who was around 200 in the World. That's a far less physically demanding sport than football as well.

I'd wouldn't be surprised to see a top female player in the lower leagues eventually but I think one playing in the PL is fantasy, unless it's a Caster Semenya type situation.

I think the wider issue there is our improving understanding of the human mind and whether or not we really have free will. If we discover beyond doubt that in reality people have limited ability to control their own behaviour then are current punishments fit for purpose? It may be that in future we view punishing people for crimes they had no control over as barbaric as punishing people for being physically disabled.
