Is it?......I would say yes. Certainly more strength in depth. We were so fortunate during the title run in that Claudio could pick the same team week in, week out other than JV's suspension when it was all over anyway. Very positive signs at the moment. Good times for City fans

Title winning team is a better 11. Of course it is. Silly to think otherwise.

Better squad? Also yes. Strength in depth is brilliant to see.

Is it? Because of Kante and DD?

More strength in depth but  with no Kante or Drinkwater (who had a terrific season) and Simpson,Fuchs,Morgan and Huth  who were probably all at their peak that season, its hard to know

I actually feel that the squad is yes and the style of football change is pleasing on the eye and in such a short time!

15/16 was an achievement unlikely to be surpassed so reluctant to compare ,very happy to say I like what CP is doing.

Definitely a better squad and in my opinion, playing better football! That said out title winning team was something special and we all loved the way we got about teams that year. For me I'd say that starting 11 was slightly better than what we have now, purely because of the Kante factor. It's close though!

To be honest, I feel like the squad we have now is the one we should have got the season after winning the title. Instead of Hernandez, Musa, Mendy and Slimani (and Kaputska) imagine if we had have got Silva, Iborra, Maguire and Ndidi instead?

Anyway we learned our lesson and now we have a deep squad with lots of quality. For me today that we had Silva and Iborra, both past captains of famous European clubs as our *backup* central midfield was something you'd never think possible when we were back in the same league as Peterborough. And not only do we have a better squad, it's youthful too! Today we got a preview of the future of the club and that's not including Amartey who was left out altogether.

Great time to be a Foxes fan!

If the two squads were at different clubs and made to play out a season then the 15/16 team would finish higher 95% of the time.

Strength in depth would need to really count for our current group to win and usually it wouldn't, not to the extent I think it would need to anyway.

Yes. And because we won the premier league with that 11. On paper our strongest 11 now would probably shade it but DD and Kante were a massive difference between us winning the prem and not.

The time for these threads is not after we drubbed a league one side. That goes for the other I-told-you-so thread about Puel as well. Three weeks ago we failed to record a shot against another League One side. Any time we get a couple good performances in on the bounce the Foxestalk consensus is that we can take on the world and a poor performance is unforeseeable. We're still very capable of getting smashed by Everton or Swansea and will probably be thrashed by Man City. Temper your enthusiasm.

It really is a fantastic squad. We are potentially offloading our third choice No. 9 to Chelsea - what is going on?

I watched today and thought..... I remember all the times when having a player as good as Demarai Gray would feel like winning the lottery and there we are getting slated by the ‘experts’ for starting a weakened side.

Enjoy it fellas - it is a joy to watch.

In every position we have two very good players. Only Amartey is perhaps a bit too early too call. In 15/16 this was in no way the case. And now we perhaps may have a player equal to Kante or at least approaching that level.

Our squad is better. But in 15/16 we had the benefits of being unknown, being discounted, having an amazing team spirit and having tactics that broke most of our opponents.

Might get some stick for this, but i'd put James and Cambiso as our best midfield's that i can remember........all be it in the last few years!

Any squad losing Kante will always be poorer

too many turkeys from Portuguese league as well

It was a shock last season for sure but Ndidi is younger and showing his class now, looking immense

We've got a great squad currently however that winning premier league team had both Kante and Drinkwater. If we had still had them two, then perhaps we would have been pushing even further up.
