I don't think Man City were serious with their bid. For whatever reason they wanted to unsettle us, and it worked. If they were serious Mahrez would now be a Man City player.

If no other club than Leicester values him at this mythical £80 million plus figure, then what?

If he keeps doing what hes doing professionally, which right now doesnt look likely, then great, were likely to get a decent offer in the summer.

If he doesnt, the offers are going to go down and down. And theyre going to be from clubs like Roma that he doesnt want to go to.

Then youve got a Berahino or Alexis Sanchez on your hands.

A depreciating asset, offering nothing.

Then you wish youd have done the deal.

He's got 2 and a half years on his contract, we'll still get a good fee if he leaves in the summer.

You just know that a couple of good performances from him and 99% of our fans will be back to thinking that the sun shines out of his Algerian ring piece!

as long as he win us games, who cares?

What with all the focus on Mahrez, I think once again we are missing the point. Mahrez aside, we are not strengthening where we need to.

This club needs two better full backs. Tonight once again made this clear.

All the Mahrez talk has taken concentration away from where it's really needed.

And if no one offers £80+ million in the summer and hes not on fire, whilst wanting a move, do you then take £55-60 mil?

At what point do you be pragmatic and realise you might have to comprimise?

In the summer. Selling now with no replacement ready is too risky. Had we had the time to prepare and adjust we'd have taken a lower offer. He'll go for less than £80 million at a more suitable time.

Lets cross that bridge when it happens. If we still only get £65 million that's £15 million than you were prepared to take.

Yes I suppose if he played well and scored we wouldn't mind who he was or what he did off the pitch, even if it was Fred West

They are so disgustingly rich they fancied a cheeky punt on getting him on the cheap. When we talked true values they were like "nah were not that bothered"

Fred West played under Frank McLintock, in the same team as Lammie Robertson and Eddie Kelly.

When West got a chance, he usually buried it.

Premier League football is becoming a bit of a joke. The money is completely rediculous now. Seriously considering watching Coalville next season and giving up my season ticket.

I know a few fans (of other clubs here down south) who feel the same. I know a couple of West Ham & Chelsea who now follow non league instead and much prefer it...

did he kill or rape someone? if he benefits the team then so be it. that was very unprofessional of him but he's still here. what good does it do crying over spilt milk? what's done is done, if a player can help the team more (be that just 1%) than he should play (after he apologizes of course)

people being overly emotional here (and i can't blame them), he did almost the same thing last summer but he helped our season a lot. let's be pragmatic here, if he puts a shift again and win us more games, the fans should be behind him.

Not this time. I knew watching him after September that this drama could unfold once more. I wasn't fooled by the return to form.

Algerian fanboys are one thing. The die-hards won't be as forgiving..

and i don't care. if they prefer making the team worse instead of biting the bullet on this one then they got it all wrong.

if he gets back and plays bad, that's a another scenario

Think I hate the state of some nobbers in this thread more than any of the options mentioned.

Will go mental at his next wondergoal, as will everyone complaining about him. Give it a rest and have yourselves a good night's sleep. You'l feel better in the morning.

I would have taken £1 over £50M. We can't like the inmates rule the asylum. And we can't let a disgruntled player who doesn't want to be here that we're desperate to hold onto cost us our chance of Europe.

Please never buy LCFC

I believe one transfer window is all you need and that should be before the start of the season, January window is not necessary and unless settles players imo

I see no reason to hate Pep or city. The only reason this all became public is because of Sky.

Man City went about things legally and in the right way, they enquired, made some speculative bids and backed off when they realised it couldn’t be done.

Riyad meanwhile has for the third transfer window in a row forgotten just four or so years ago he was a scrawny league 2 player in France who absolutely no one cared about....

Thats twice he has “gone on strike” now... personally that’s it for me... if he plays for the next 6 months he plays but he’ll draw no emotion out of me. I’ve been ready for him to leave for a year and a half and personally I hope someone in Europe comes in for him in the next day or so
