all he had to do was wait 4 months though and he'd be off anyway. he's behaved like an absolute bell.

And miss a pretty much nailed on League winners medal in the league and potentially more?

Put in the same position, I’d want to leave right away, I’d have been disappointed having reached that decision not to be in a position to move and so rightly, my head wouldn’t be right to play football / be around teammates.

You'd cut someone loose for £30 million less than they're worth?

He's worth what someone will pay not our valuation. If city did offer £65m we should have took it. We will be lucky to get £50m for the sulky tw@ this summer.

Imagine the moaning on here if we had sold Mahrez for 65 mill and failed to get anyone in on deadline day

Or, at best, got someone in who did not match Mahrez's effectiveness for the team.

We'd all have moaned that we cant believe we let Man City do that to us at the last minute of the window and we'd curse the whole thing out for having cost us our bid for Europe

What with all the focus on Mahrez, I think once again we are missing the point. Mahrez aside, we are not strengthening where we need to.

This club needs two better full backs. Tonight once again made this clear.

All the Mahrez talk has taken concentration away from where it's really needed.

We'll you missed the creative part too. Because boy, were we dire yesterday.

But we don't want to sell, so they either pay what were asking or do without.

For what it's worth I feel for the guy, however behaving in the manner he has show's a lot of disrespect to the club and his team mates.

Now we have the problem with his mind set and how he can integrate back in to the club for the rest of the season.

Man City or Pep didn't do us any favours by putting in a bid, It's unsettled the guy, the players and the supporters

If they really wanted him that bad, why not put money on the table Jan 1st so we had time to get in a replacement.

It shows other clubs what sort of person they're are signing, It also begs the question how he would behave when he's sat on the bench watching Sane, Jesus, De Bruyne tear teams apart.

Puel is meant to be a great man manager, he's going to have to use all those management skills to resolve this one. Best of luck to him.

Don’t hate any of them. Pep’s an annoying pretentious bell but a top manager. Mahrez is a wonderful footballer but a petulant child who is being poorly advised and the players will lose games occasionally

I don't think the issue was selling him, Man City came in far too late with no time for us to sign a replacement. They came in on January first, it would have been a different story.

They also massively undervalued him; they just spent more money the other day on a defender with no international caps. Did they expect to get a former player of the year  and ballon d'or nominee for the same amount of money in THIS window? Pay the fee or walk on.

Nailed it. Obviously I won't be jeering Mahrez (assuming he performs as he can) but it's very annoying to see how Man City have done this. If they'd put in a bid two weeks ago, fine, but the timing was almost guaranteed to unsettle our team.

I am reserving judgement over this whole affair for a couple of matches. All i do know is that Man City were a bit out of order for bidding just before the deadline. And they are bullshitting if they say it had nothing to do with Sane's injury.  Support the team and the players - and don't believe everything you read in the papers or Social Media.

Very unprofessional of man city and pep in unsettling Leicester city, if they did it properly they could have inquired weeks ago and not just start and end the process of signing Mahrez in the last day of the transfer deadline

Feeling particularly grumpy today after last night's non-performance and with a general feeling that our season has just been derailed.

Be like me, just hate everyone, then there's no chance of missing anybody out.

If no other club than Leicester values him at this mythical £80 million plus figure, then what?

If he keeps doing what hes doing professionally, which right now doesnt look likely, then great, were likely to get a decent offer in the summer.

If he doesnt, the offers are going to go down and down. And theyre going to be from clubs like Roma that he doesnt want to go to.

Then youve got a Berahino or Alexis Sanchez on your hands.

A depreciating asset, offering nothing.

Then you wish youd have done the deal.

Do you think that if Riyadh had have kept his gob shut and negotiated with the club only we'd have got his market value? I do, so I think the only person at fault here is Riyad and co.

Imagine hating the players for a bad performance on a day of turmoil and unrest lol get a grip, mate.

I'm in this camp. In this instance I think the players deserve somewhat of a pass. They played really badly but even if Ndidi's header goes in, or Ihenacho or James take their chances at 2-1 and we'd have come away with a draw. The way our forums and social media exploded showed you what an emotional day it was for us all and though I thought we started OK, you could tell throughout the whole game that something was not right. It's almost as if everyone in the club and squad were worried we were about to lose our star player!

I just hope we can snap out of it quickly, and that we start thinking about Plan B right now. The lack of Mahrez yesterday made us look painfully average, which is why selling him in this window would have been a mistake.

I'm hoping Puel has what it takes, because this is a very tough situation. We almost need the sort of siege mentality that we showed after Claudio got sacked last season.

I would have taken £1 over £50M. We can't like the inmates rule the asylum. And we can't let a disgruntled player who doesn't want to be here that we're desperate to hold onto cost us our chance of Europe.

I'm glad you're not running the club then!

Basically, yes. The answer to all the problems is keep your head down, let the football do the talking, and you WILL get the move naturally.

The only person trying to bend anyone over in all of this was Mahrez himself.

Man City did literally nothing unprofessional.

Thing is, in those 4 months he could've had Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and UCL winners medals.

... but other than that, yeah he's an absolute bell.
