Well, could be a big blow for Kane. I think wishing a serious injury on anyone is bad taste, but... Same ankle as last year.

If I was JV i would be keeping half an eye on this. Of course, the Russia situation also complicates things.

Gone are the days of worrying about English players fitness at this stage of a season in a tournament year.

Completely irrelevant given we will struggle to get out the group and if we do the usual whollops will be dished out by <insert mediocre team>°

is Kane still a Leicester player

Why would Vardy 'keep an eye on this'?

Vardy's pretty much a cert to go to Russia as much as Kane is (if recovering from injury). Vardy has nothing to worry about lol

Bad for England, good for whoever plays them in the FA cup and our away game. As much as I grew to dislike Spurs I cannot wish an injury upon Kane.

Think Gray should be licking his lips too, if he improves his form from now to the end of the season.

Honestly I think Danny Simpson has more of a chance of going to the World Cup than Gray.

It increases Vardy's chances of starting obviously. Although from England's perspective you'd want them both to start.

Not a prayer of Gray going to Russia even if he did hit a bit of form. There's too many players ahead of him that he won't be able to shift!

Oh I'm sure JV will go, but without Kane he would be nailed on first choice, for me

Didn't mean it would change his chances of being in the squad.

I think its more to do with how much game time Vardy will get. No Kane= more game time for Vardy most likely..

I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to the England side but if Kane is out long term, is Jamie next in line to be striker? I don't watch a lot of Man City but Sterling doesn't lead the line there so surely he wouldn't be starting up top?

I hope Kane isn’t out long term. Wouldn’t wish that on anyway but hopefully the one sliver lining is more game time in an England shirt for Vards

Could actually work in England's favour. Kane would be good against the lesser teams but I still think Vardy gives England a better option against the top teams due to his counter attacking.

I mean his stats against the big teams in the prem speak for themselves. Would be interesting to see Kane's stats?

Lets face, it given what happened to Drinkwater you'd have to put Vardy behind Rashford & Lingard.  In fact they'll still take Kane if he's in plaster.

Hmm, you could be right. I guess it is best to mentally prepare for the worst. :(

Have they tried to poison Kane as well? You think Vardy could be next?
