Russia didn’t do this !

Light reading for the sheep ! It’s totally implausible that the Russians used a weapon that only they could be accused of using

would be like banksy holding up Lloyds Bank but before  making off with cash  he would spray Banksy on the wall !!!

Whether they did or not it's a mystery that you find it hard to convince people when your source material is your hero Clarkson writing for the sun.

Exactly, it's not like Clarkson is known for his investigative journalism.

Believe it or not I'm not a lefty either and to me it's painfully obvious Russia did it.

Tbf you did vote for soft Brexit so I'm not sure the first part is entirely true.

You're going to have to get over your obsession with me toddy. It's not healthy.

Just got back from a week away - just in time!

So what do people reckon the atmosphere would be like at an England v. Russia "FIFA World Cup Semi-Final sponsored by Novitchok"?

And what would Theresa (or the Queen) say if Vlad invited her to be his guest of honour at such a (currently hypothetical) semi? :D

That's my guess, too.

Doesn't make much sense otherwise. If they'd cared that much about killing Skripal, they could have done it while they had him imprisoned in Russia - and would surely have been capable of arranging a more efficient hit in Salisbury, if they'd suddenly thought that necessary?

Unless you get into the realms of conspiracy theories and imagine that the UK or US might have done it to incriminate Russia (why?!), then the only alternative seems to be some powerful non-state player in Russia.

But would they have been able to acquire the nerve agent, to take it to the UK and to use it? And if they had, couldn't Putin have got them to take the rap for it?

"Pour encourager les autres" (a subtle reminder to serving Russian agents of the long arm of the Russian state) seems a likely motive.

I had read somewhere the Russian secret service were some time ago given a free reign to manage such matters and not neccessarily answerable to the Russian President .  A bit of a perverse anonimity for the President but neverless one that could be true.

The atmosphere would be toxic.

Maybe she could forge a special relationship  by getting down on her knees and giving Vlad some Noshyerchop

The female victim of the second nerve agent attack has sadly passed away.

Edit: A UK police murder inquiry is now launched.

At least there's crucial developments on the linked cases that's being gathered at a fast pace.

Fair play for the investigators, overall, as it must be very painstaking to comb every inch of the areas being investigated - knowing a wrong turn somewhere could negatively affect conclusions.

So they think that there are multiple suspects, all Russian who sprayed all the door handles of the home whilst he was away picking up his daughter from the airport.

Police think that the suspects used a perfume bottle to disguise and dispense the chemical around the home which was later discarded in a near by park and picked up by the deceased who sprayed the chemical onto her wrist presuming it to be perfume.

Ah I see, I thought I was the target of a virtual robbery - the same way I feel about the time lost when I read the blind, prejudicial and daft postings of north gaelic fox.
