That may have been a well-prepared interview by the Russia state which is painfully obvious to others in the west that it was staged to try and make it appear that Russia are very 'serious' regarding this investigation - but it feels like that they're taking the mickey out of it all, and it may well further damage the dwindling relationship between Russia and the UK/west.

I don't even think you can say it's well prepared, unless reading Wikipedia and being able to regurgitate it is considered good prep work, lol

Wikipedia:

Salisbury Cathedral, formally known as the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is an Anglican cathedral in Salisbury, England, and one of the leading examples of Early English architecture.[2] The main body of the cathedral was completed in only 38 years, from 1220 to 1258.

Since 1549, the cathedral has had the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom, at 404 feet (123 m). Visitors can take the "Tower Tour" where the interior of the hollow spire, with its ancient wood scaffolding, can be viewed. The cathedral also has the largest cloister and the largest cathedral close in Britain at 80 acres (32 ha).[2] It contains a clock which is among the oldest working clocks in the world, and has the best surviving of the four original copies of Magna Carta.[2] In 2008, the cathedral celebrated the 750th anniversary of its consecration.[5]

Russian interviewees:

"Our friends have been recommending that we visit this wonderful city for a long time already."

"There's a famous cathedral there, the Salisbury cathedral. It's famous not just all over Europe, it's famous all over the world I think. It's famous for its 123-metre spire, it's famous for its clock, the first clock made in the world that still works."

the only problem with the implementations behind your thoughts,is....a tourist would say exactly the same thing...especially a tourist where English isn't the first language.....So taking a judges point of view..So what!!

Plus BBCs and Sky reporters, are just has bad giving insinuations on pure propaganda basis.....with no solid argument.

It's not what we,or I might think...but the style of reporting, and even govt reports on TV,is just noise and non solid accusations...

Only the Serving politician( forgot his name) from Salisbury, has come up with and making decent evidence and high proof of a connection.

The headlines and  first tifts of information,on everyday news...is poorly presented on facts of the case, and only pathetic propaganda

Nod,nod is good as a wink reporting....So no better than the Russian approach... Assumptions do not sell the facts..

The interview was in Russian.

Only an idiot would believe they actually travelled to the UK for a three day holiday, to see Salisbury cathedral. And most of that time would be spent walking the wrong way.lol

If anyone believes these two Russian "tourists" then they'll believe anything. Their story is so unplausible given all the evidence we have about their movement etc. If they liked the city so much why not return, if you've nothing to hide? Lying bastards!!

To go to Salisbury on two separate occasions, for less than a couple of hours each time, just coincidentally around the time a former Russian spy was poisoned with nerve agent lol

Surely even Russians can't believe this.

https://www.bellingcat.com/news/uk-and-europe/2018/09/26/skripal-suspect-boshirov-identified-gru-colonel-anatoliy-chepiga/

Bellingcat has been able to confirm the actual identity of one of the two officers. The suspect using the cover identity of “Ruslan Boshirov” is in fact Colonel Anatoliy Chepiga, a highly decorated GRU officer bestowed with Russia’s highest state award, Hero of the Russian Federation. Following Bellingcat’s own identification, multiple sources familiar with the person and/or the investigation have confirmed the suspect’s identity.

This finding eliminates any remaining doubt that the two suspects in the Novichok poisonings were in fact Russian officers operating on a clandestine government mission.

While civilians in Russia can generally own more than one passport, no civilian – or even an intelligence service officer on a personal trip – can cross the state border under a fake identity. The discovery also highlights the extent of the effort – and public diplomacy risk – Russia has taken to protect the identities of the officers. President Putin publicly vouched that “Boshirov” and “Petrov” are civilians. As it is established practice that the awards Hero of the Russian Federation are handed out by the Russian president personally, it is highly likely that Vladimir Putin would have been familiar with the identity of Colonel Chepiga, given that only a handful of officers receive this award each year....

I don’t know why they even bother pretending it wasn’t another state assassination.  What is the point?  Internal propaganda I guess, but there is the internet- that shit doesn’t work anymore surely.

To punish and embarrass them because they botched the state sponsored undercover mission they were on

Goodness only knows. I'm sure the guy has a motive for it - as he always does - but right now it's as clear as mud.
