Having signed Musa, Slimani and possibly the most bizarre of the lot...Mendy in recent times, for a combined total of over 60 million quid, the question is ‘why wouldn’t you trust Puel with your money’? He could hardly do any worse could he.

How much are they now, do you know?

Family firm used to have one two to the right of theirs.

Guy doing the stadium tour this morning said standard price is 25k for 10 seater box and 35k for 16 seater box. One though apparently went for a premium price of 100k due to being next to the owners' box.

Most of our recent flops were signed in that awful window where our head of recruitment just up and left with no replacement. Our recruitment's been fine since Macia came in.

Owners are really unhappy him and there was talk of getting rid of him once the season is done.

If we do that, then prepare for a relegation battle next season. We will become a laughing stock. We are not Chelsea and no decent manager, no good footballer in their right mind would come to us. See also some of the best players jump the ship.

There's a decent chance we'll lose some/all of our star players whatever happens. There's no reason why we're more likely to be in a relegation if we change manager. Personally I couldn't care less who laughs at us, all football fans are desperate to laugh at other teams whether it's justified or not, it's no big deal.

What we need most is stability and can't afford to sack a manager without even giving a full season just because we lost a couple of games. You ain't gonna build anything in the long term

I wasn't thinking about the other fans when I said "laughing stock". Like I'd give a damn. However just like every other job you need some credibility and image. Trigger happy owners ain't going to motivate good managers to come here or decent footballers for that matter.

Unless you'd be happy with Fat Sam or Pardew managing us next season.

This club sacked the man who lead us into our greatest triumph less than six months into the next season. It sacked his successor less than 3 months into the season and yet they managed to attract a manager of the calibre of Claude Puel to replace him.

As for the "Unless you'd be happy with Fat Sam or Pardew managing us next season." That must be the most pathetic argument there is. Nobody has asked for them and they're not likely to get the job either. There are dozens of managers across the world that would jump at the chance to manage us. Maybe they'd turn out to be be worse, maybe they'll be better but nobody wants the stability of dull football, clueless displays and  constant underachievement.

Christ we have some spoilt bastards in our fan base, seriously half you lot need to get over yourselves. It’s like you’ve turned into arsenal fans. Yesterday was crap and disappointing but do we need to sack a manager every time we feel like this?

When it's most weeks you need to question it, yes.

Agreed I dont want to sack him... but i want him to come out and say we are not creating enough chances and i assure you all i am qorking on it....and you will see an improvement

So far i have not seen an improvement abd i wonder what their priorities are in training

I am fed up with his lines  about quality and passion

I think he needs his own pre season and his own players to play in the style he wants. I know some games have been boring but it could be worse.

Once he gets his team he wants then if it's still not working with results etc then maybe the owners will have to look at the situation. Changing mangers again will only disrupt the squad even more and be back at square one where they have to learn another managers system

We'll see about that.

It’s not most weeks though, we’ve just won two on the bounce away from home.

We are in transition, a bit like Pearsons first season back at the club after hull. It takes time and patience, not dummy spitting after every defeat.

I think with the signing of Diabaté and the potential signings of Ben Arfa and Maddison, yes I'd trust him with my money.

We're evolving our playing style. There will be hiccups along the way, but there will also be games where it comes together. The 1-4 against West Brom, the 1-4 against Southampton and the 0-0 at Stamford Bridge spring to mind.

Puel has done really well to lift us up the table. The more players we get who can suit his style of play, the better. We have some who can do it already. But unfortunately the blood and thunder days of Pearson, Ranieri and Shakey got sussed out.

The point I’m making (which I thought was fookin obvious?) was that naff signings can be made at any time, by any manager.

Why hurl this accusation at Puel who hasn’t even had a proper transfer window?

Answer: because it’s something else to have a go at him over. Even when we haven’t seen who he might want to sign for the club.

This new accusation of ‘one chance per game isn’t good enough’ well no it isn’t but it’s not exactly a trend. We’ve averaged over 15 shots a game for the previous 4 games. His face doesn’t fit, it’s that simple.

Performances and players unhappy with him. It’s not even the old guard that have vented their frustration apparently Iborra, Silva & Dragovic all unhappy.

I mentioned after the Newcastle game that it wasn’t all the “old guard” that were unhappy.

A few of last summers signings are seriously unhappy with Puel. If we were to get rid of all the players that are unhappy with Puel we’d be needing 8/9 new players in the summer.

Wait, what? There are legitimate complaints about him. But wasting money is not one. You're clutching at straws.

I was trying to get the quote out of this thread and put it into the “name a better option than Puel thread”

Got a bit confused with the multi quote.

Puel will buy players who are comfortable in possession. he won’t  be able to decide on his own. As long as there are others also making the calls then we should be able to avoid buying any payers who are too slow to fit a counter attacking style should we need to revert back.

i wouldn’t have a problem with him being part of the buying team but if we are changing then I would prefer it was done quickly to avoid the problem occurring.
