60 million! Embarrassing by the club if true.

There is certainly a fair amount of add-ons but if you really thought we wouldn't sell him for less than 85M, well...

Everyone in here giving it the "good riddance" or "can't wait to see the back of him" or "60m for a bench warmer" is a ****ing weirdo. Just saying.

I think a lot of us are angry with the fee and the waiting time, I’m particularly annoyed we’re selling him to another prem team.

Awful deal for us unless we have someone else in the pipeline. This best be 60m upfront if not we've completely lost the plot. Also, we've set a very dangerous precedent with this and I have a feeling that the floodgates will now open for other teams to cherry pick our best players at reduced prices.

Some fees are publicised with the add ons and some are not. This deal has become complex due to the agents fees etc. We are noted for our low payments to agents and Man City will want the fee to be publicised as low as possible. I expect a compromise is being reached where both clubs appear get what they want in the public domain. The reality in nett proceeds and expenditure may be a little different ......

That's half of what Coutinho went for. Is he twice as good as Mahrez? Not a chance. Terrible business by the club.

Nothing to do with the fact that Mahrez has been nothing short of an absolute legend for this club and deserves the utmost respect from every single person claiming to be a Leicester fan.

That's more to do with our club/Rudkin/Owners holding on to him for dear life before accepting a preiously rejected offer.

I'd say that Coutinho is world class and Mahrez isn't.

Coutinho starts for every side in the world.

Yeah it’s there fault other clubs didn’t bid the valuation! Mahrez has been a dick end of story!

who are people so hung up on the price? No one actually knows what it is and not sure why its so important to anyone? its not like they are saying if its £80mill all fans will get a cut of the money is it?! If the business people at the club feels it a deal the club are happy with then so be it.

Its real life not football manager.

I disagree. Mahrez is on par with Coutinho AT LEAST! How many times has Coutinho won player of the year? Check the statistics of both players over the past three seasons and they favour Mahrez. Man City have had our pants down. Next up Maguire to Man United for £1.99.

Coutinho probably top 5 players in the world. Mahrez probably top 25 in the premier league who has acted a bit knobish in the last two transfer window.

What ever the fee is it must be right for the club or they wouldn't have accepted it.

I honestly think Mahrez starts for every club in the World tbf.

He's many, many times better than Sterling, better than Bernardo Silva, probably better than Sane in almost every area except pace.

I have a sneaky feeling that global appreciation for how good Riyad is is going to go through the roof once he starts playing with superstars every week.

It's much easier to look good when your team steamrolls most opposition most days.

How good do you think Neymar, Hazard or Coutinho would really look in our side? That's not to suggest those players are shit btw, just that being a flair player at a mid table club always on the back foot is a thankless task.

Riyad is capable of the ridiculous and we hold him back, quite frankly.

If you don't have the honesty as a Leicester fan (not you specifically mate, that's the Royal You) then you're only kidding yourself.

Out of interest why are you bothered about how much we buy sell people for?

Whose to say £60m wasn't always what we said we'd accept. No fees are ever truly public and speculation now is just the same as in January. For all we know they might have big 50m in Jan and we wouldn't budge on 60.

Guilty.  As charged.

Do you feel that Riyad's repeated poor behaviour can be excused because he's good?  At what point do you say enough is enough or does he have a free pass forever?

I may be a weirdo, but a weirdo with a little principle and self respect.

I'll miss him. It's the right time, but oh, I'll miss him.

Love watching him bring down a diagonal pass with a casual flick of his foot. Masterclass. Hope he does well for Man C (except against us when I hope he goes missing and/or someone thumps in the legs a few times).

I hope we're getting some add ons though 60m seems like a bargain.

I have a ridiculous valuation of Mahrez's capability. He's a 90m player in my eyes.

Just saying that Coutinho is a level above. Coutinho is Iniesta's heir for me. That's how highly I rate him.

I can't agree that Mahrez is better than Sane. However I agree he's better than Sterling and probably on a par with Bernardo Silva. They are all kids though, Mahrez is 27 now and in what you'd consider to be his prime.

60m and we're been shafted by both clubs.

He's going to go to the next level under Pep though. This time next year he'll be twice the player he currently is.

At a guess, I'd say it is because he wants the best for our club?

Because I want the club to be European contenders, and you don't achieve that by selling your best players to divisional rivals for less than what they are worth. Big clubs don't really sell their best players, but when they do they almost always get well above what they are worth. I want Leicester to be like that.

More or less embarrassing than confidently predicting he stays unless a bid of at least 85 million is made?

What repeated poor behaviour?

He wanted a move and it a move looked very certain on deadline day. He was obviously going to be upset (Man City were favourites for the quadruple at that point) and was given a few days off by the club to get over ti.

He came back and was our best player for a good month and a half.

To get top money for Mahrez we needed other clubs to be interested and possibly start a bidding war. Unfortunately nobody else was and Man City didn't seem that desperate. Unlucky for us but whatever the case may be, I wish Mahrez all the best. He's a top player and will thrive in that team, given the opportunity.
