It's no surprise a deal of this magnitude is taking time...

It's been going on for four to five months now. Only details to settle.

We've been in touch with Porto regarding Ricardo Pereira since the start of the year, as well.

£75m is fair.

I just want him out quickly so we can, hopefully, buy some decent players with the money we have.

Fantastic step for Mahrez and he fully deserves it. I resented him for going on strike, but I am happy for him and I hope he takes his chance at Man City!

He could leave or he could stay. That's as close to the truth as you can get and it's brought to you for free.

You are faker news.

I was the first person who said Puel is staying, after the crystal palace shocker, when all the other ITK's were saying he is a gonna.  My source at LCFC was correct.

I maybe fake, but the news is true.

Dunno mate, I rarely get info, but when I don't seems to be correct.

By the sounds of it, this was agreed a long time ago

I’m hoping all was agreed some time ago, and yet there was an understanding from Man City that nothing will be announced until Leicester have an agreement in place  for his replacement. Hopefully there’ll be a quick escalation in news of incoming superstar, then this could move on.

I don't care as such just find the over the top arse licking slightly sickening for a player albeit a good one who basically dumped on us.

I mean it's probably got something to do with him arguably being our best ever player

What lol in all due respect now i am not saying you do or you dont know someone at the club for information but you took a 50/50 it ended up on your side. But i do believe you have a contact its 2018 most people do.

Puel changed the owners decision with the last 2 games performances. LCFC were in talks with Benitez just like i mentioned 48hrs prior to it coming out in the media.

Benitez did not fancy the move and wanted assurances he will be supported by Newcastle in the transfer window which he has been given.

i know 2 very reliable people who work at the club very well and everything they have said has all been true.

and to your other post about Mahrez this deal is still being agreed but Leicester really want Roberts, Please see Roberts thread but basicly man city are trying for a buy back clause on the Roberts deal of 15 mill, hense why the Mahrez deal has not gone through so quickly or as quickly as people thought it would is Leicester do not want a buy back as any part of the deal ( Mahrez and Roberts deal are separate) but Leicester dont want to sell them selfs short and sell mahrez and have nothing barter the buy back clause.

However apparently the deal is very close now but MAY not happen this week.

I don't think anybody is getting offended.

We're about to sell the most talented player we've ever had at the club, we've no chance of getting a like for like replacement because no one of his calibre would even contemplate signing for us and we'll probably have to pay over the odds for someone of half his ability.

Mahrez leaving seems inevitable so there's no point in getting over stressed about it, however, i find your nonchalant attitude towards it extraordinary. He'll go down in LCFC history and will be talked about in centuries to come.

If anybody is getting offended, so what?

And your 2nd point is very important, and should be obvious - if such a talent equal to Mahrez exists, wouldn't the sharks be bidding for him? We have to find a player that we can develop, the finished article is for the biggest of the big boys.

My contact was very specific and timing was very specific, at the time I did say that my contact is someone I dont have direct link to meaning I don't get regular info but when I do it has been correct.  However, its good knowing that there are more people with more inside knowledge, so please do keep us updated.

It’s amusing reading the saltiness, Mahrez isn’t going to sit on the bench.

Mahrez will rotate with Sane and Sterling, each can play 35/40 games a season without fatigue rather than 50+. Man City were visibly tired against Liverpool in the CL rounds and in the league after the Xmas schedule. Plus Mahrez can carve opportunities in tight space better than Bernardo Silva he’ll go above him in the pecking order, and with Aguero missing games every season due to injury, Sterling may play centrally as a 9, which also gives Mahrez plenty of game time.

When Gareth Bale signed for Real Madrid, Spurs negotiated and announced deals for 4 players before selling. That was smart of Levy as it meant they got good prices for the players they brought, instead of everything being jacked up by 10m or so knowing if the clubs they negotiated with knew that Spurs were flush with cash. Of course, it was obvious that the Bale deal had been agreed weeks earlier, but it was very professionally handled.

It could well be the same for us; we are negotiating 2 or even 3 signings but until everything is signed, sealed and delivered neither club is making a formal statement. It's a bit like how when buying a house as part of a chain deal that the entire thing depends on all parties resolving their contracts correctly.

Last season Man City signed Bernado Silva literally the day the window opened. This year they've been ominously quiet, which makes me think the above is true. The Adrien Silva fiasco probably means the club is even more stringent on everything than we were previously.

Lets see what happens.

You'd hope that was our thinking... I don't have much faith in us pulling that off.

If Mahrez wasn't so openly keen on moving away then we would all be heartbroken about him leaving a la Kante.

There no doubt he is one of our greatest players but we've more or less seen the best of him here and after the airport fiasco on top of the dummyspitting in January/February then it's probably for the best for both parties to go their seperate ways.

I'm optimistic we'll find a decent replacement anyways. Mahrez joined us when our reputation was nothing like it is now so we can attract someone decent at the moment.

You'd never know we might be the next example of 'Ewing Theory'!
