He will score shed load of goals at Man City. They create so many chances that he will get into double figures in goals + assists easily.

£75m is decent considering he's desperate to leave but his true value will be realised next season when he's scoring & assisting for fun.

Depends on whether he'll be given the nod ahead of Raheem Sterling or Bernardo Silva on the right wing. That's some competition.

As far as scoring & assisting is concerned, he'll also be playing alongside the likes of De Bruyne, Agüero, David Silva, Sané, Gündogan, Fernandinho and Walker as his deputy just behind him.

With the system Guardiola has implemented, hardly an achievement. They are so dominant up front and thus score like crazy.

Get the fact he is leaving but dont get the fact he is going man city - unless its for a monster pay day.

1 - He will be on the bench to start and find it hard to break into the team,

2 - He is a sulky bellend at the best of times, hardly a pep player,

3 - very lazy if he isnt getting his own way, again hardly a pep player

All this talk of Mahrez being sulky at Manchester City is nonsense. If you look at this season alone, I can't think of one player that moaned about being rotated, dropped or not getting maximum game time. It's the Guardiola factor. Mahrez will thrive there - in the team or not.

Sounding like it could be a done deal then?

£75m is a good sum of money, and I feel we can replace his goals and creativity with that, albeit spread over 2 positions- a replacement right winger and central attacking midfielder.

The whole sum, plus whatever our transfer budget was before this transfer, needs to be invested on the squad if we are to progress though. If we want Europe, we need to spend the money to compete with the other sides wanting Europe.

I'm amazed we've managed to hold out for 75 million (I read 60 million plus add-ons?).

His performances bar the final two games where there was nothing to play for have been pretty average.  I think we've had his best years from him - I can't see him replicating the form from 15/16 wherever he goes.

I thought he was reaching the best he'd ever been under Puel until the Man City interest derailed him.

Mahrez will be looking forward to the challenge of breaking into the team and integrating with some of the best players around.

Instead of automatic first choice he will have to earn his place in the team and I think he's relishing that situation.

Everyone wants to prove themselves and he now deserves that chance.

Etihad.

Neymar will never land there. Not with the actual political situation.

Really don't understand why people think he'll struggle to break into their team. Look at what he does in a bog standard Leicester team incapable of providing him with consistent support and space to play in. In a fast breaking Man City team he'll be fantastic.

Hypothetical yes but.

If we spend the money right we should be stronger without Mahrez than we are now. Our left should be ok with what we have. Our right is already stronger with our new wing back. So a good solid right winger to replace Mahrez. Then a proper ten.

We won't then rely on one man. Let's be honest two years ago he only really turned up for the big games. This season better until he tossed his toys out the pram.

Money spent right we should be stronger and not relying on one man to supply the bullets for Vardy.

Yep. The only way this doesn't happen is if he isn't playing week in week out.

Agree.

Man city have so many games also and a manager that rotates.

He'll get 30 starts next season no problems

Pep rotates and they all get their chance, if he shows up when the chances are given to him, I can't see him getting anything but regular football. I can also see Pep using Sterling more centrally as well as they are light on strikers.

I think we could look to improve both right and left positions as well as number 10. I'm not convinced Albrighton is bullet proof under Puel and although he's a reliable sort I'd not be surprised to see two new wingers arrive. Iheanacho will surely fancy his chances of nailing down the withdrawn striker role behind Vardy but bringing in someone like Maddison could be a great bit of business to rotate.

Chelsea signed England internationals Drinkwater and Barkley and loaned out Loftus-Cheek. Drinkwater and Barkley are now out of the squad and Loftus-Cheek's going to Russia. Their transfer policy is an absolute joke.

That business was absolutely criminal.

Loftus-Cheek was highly rated at the time and probably a coin flip on who was better player out of him and Drinkwater, it wasn't like they were bringing in a Kante to replace him. How must Loftus-Cheek have felt when instead of making him the 4th choice CM of the squad they spend £35m on the 27yo Drinkwater. What a message to send to your best young players that we'd rather bring in non world class but solid PL players rather than trust you to come into the squad.

I hope you're right. He has a prodigious talent and it's a shame (but ultimately his choice) that he doesn't always seem to apply himself.

He has never really struck me as a guy with fire in his belly. He seems pretty laid back and nonchalant to me. I really don't know if he rises to challenges at anything other than his own pace. If this Man City deal goes through, I shall be very interested to see how he responds but were I a betting man, I'd not put money on him doing enough to be a first team regular. But he'll have the stage and it'll all be in his hands to do with it as he wants. I'd genuinely wish him all the best.

I honestly don't know what some people expect or what some people are watching.

There isn't an attacking midfielder in the league who has better stats over the last three seasons. Mahrez's stats have been hindered playing RM in a 4-4-1-1 with defensive responsibilities in a low possession side and is our only true creative player we have and the opposition know it.

Saying that I'm sure there are Barca and Madrid fans that constantly find the negatives in Messi and Ronaldo.
