Playing poker with those better at it than you is generally not too clever ........ Vichai is known to like a gamble at the casino and probably backs his negotiating stance. But you are right - Man City can afford to wait for the price to be what they want to pay whilst we can’t accumulate players with the small possibility that they pull out down the line. Don’t think it’s just about Riyad though - there are other wage bills we need off the table but his leaving would release the largest single amount.
Guest Markyblue Posted 13 June 2018 Posted 13 June 2018 They've got half lcfc half mcfc shirts on sale in Algeria to cover all scenarios.
Gerard Posted 13 June 2018 Posted 13 June 2018 It's strange that there are no new reports coming out about this transfer either positive or negative. Maybe that indicates this one has already been sorted by all parties and we're stalling it at our end to get other deals done without telling the world we've got a big war chest? Maybe I'm talking bollocks though, who knows? 2
sphericalfox Posted 13 June 2018 Posted 13 June 2018 Our marketing department are currently crunching the Facebook numbers. Algeria population (40.6m) vs Turkey (79.5m). We can't have access to both. Sign Omur.

And neither is there talk of interest from any other party. Could be a sign that it's a done deal, just i's being dotted and t's being crossed (agents fees or whatever) It'll happen if it happens. And if it doesn't then there'll be interest from elsewhere.

Nah, the big news guys would be all over that (bbc, Sky etc even John Percy you'd have thought). Nothing from those.

"All over" what? I think you've misinterpreted. I'm suggesting that the fact there is nothing being reported with regard to interested other parties, could indicate that a deal with Man City is all bar done. Not that it is officially done and signed off but that everything's verbal (clubs agreed, player happy) and about to fall into place. All other potential suitors know this so are looking elsewhere at other options. Should whatever it is that's holding things up/slowing things down scupper the deal THEN you'll start seeing reports of other interested clubs. 1

Surely , as the selling club though, we would want it out in the open as that would possibly raise his value.
CarbonVirtine Posted 13 June 2018 Posted 13 June 2018 Don't call me Shirley (If an agreement is verbally done then the price has been agreed. But then maybe I have a naive belief in gentlemen's agreements)

Remember last summer, apart from Roma we didn't heard no interest from any other team. 1

It just seems too quiet to me, plus the fact that he withdrew his request, plus the fact he's recently moved further south, plus the fact we have got a quality RB in. I just have a gut feeling he's not that arsed about leaving at present. ITKs keep making out it's done - where's the evidence? The major papers would be on it like shit on a stick over here of true, especially as he would be the record signing for Britain BEST club. Edited 13 June 2018 by SecretPro 2 2
WestLothianFox Posted 13 June 2018 Posted 13 June 2018 I think he is stalling signing as he so enjoyed sitting in the airport in Paris last year on deadline day, he wants to do it again this year
4everfox Posted 13 June 2018 Posted 13 June 2018 (edited) We should publicly set a deadline for any sale of Mahrez. Why should we leave ourselves in the the lurch because Mahrez is an unprofessional cockwomble? He and Man City both need to know that we won't sell on the cheap (less than 80 million) and later than the beginning of pre season. I'd genuinely rather see Mahrez playing for the reserves in the Checkatrade trophy than sell him for less than 80 million. It might seem harsh but I don't care about Mahrez's career, I care about LCFC. Edited 13 June 2018 by 4everfox 2 1
