Christian Fuchs Off Next Summer

Recommended Posts

Great bloke, wonderful and important part of our title winning team.

Lost both the will and the stamina to play Prem this year.

It's a crime he intends to take another year's salary from us whilst he spends his time promoting himself and his brand in the U.S.

If the man had any honour he'd go the the States this summer and stay there.

He probably needs to go this summer but what a signing he's been. Seems like a fantastic professional, I can't imagine him kicking up a fuss.

Good.

Love him, he’ll always be remembered

But move on.

Same with Morgan, Huth, Simpson now really.

It’s time to rebuild.

He did mean 2019 as that's when his contracts up

More interested in his brand and making stupid videos.

And you know that for a fact?

Maybe he’s also busy working his bollux off in training and trying desperately hard to earn his place back?

Yes he makes videos and has a clothing line but so do other footballers - they’re all interested in their ‘brand’ these days.

Fuchs is doing a great job with his academy and also helping Birch out with his run etc.

And I’d also guess he helps the youngsters at the club and does other things behind the scenes that we don’t hear about.

He doesn’t strike me as the type to just pick up his money and take the piss. He’s far too professional for that IMHO.

fair enough, amazing first two years here.

does he train as often as everyone else anymore? every day he's in ldn or ny by the looks of his Instagram, he rarely plays and he doesn't seem bothered by anything to do with the club anymore. don't know why he wants to stay another year but I guess contracts are contracts.

Dunno why players are deciding when they're gonna leave but Fuchs hasn't been good enough for ages now. Gets beat with ease.

He didn't decide the club did when they offered him his contract.

There's seems to be a real bitter, spiteful streak running through some fans just lately.

I get that, I just could imagine the uproar if someone like Gray said "oh I'm leaving at the end of my contract" when there's still a year tor run.

Well that would be totally different as Fuch's is at a retirement stage especially with regards to the PL and Gray is just stating out.

I know that it’s his intention to leave this summer. Whether this is part of posturing to try and get his existing contract annulled with a pay off of sorts or something has changed at the club I don’t know ......

Newsflash

its is called a contract

Have you not read about jack Rodwell, why would anyone leave a contract to earn less somewhere else, it’s the club/s fault for the terms that are being offered.

Stay in the environment you know and earn a nice little nest egg, no pressure more so for dropped players.

Bogarde was one on the first pioneers

45k a week over 4 years 20 odd years ago

got payed 9.5m for 12 games.

Although this his is wrong on many levels, you can’t really blame the player on the contract.

Yeah maybe he is working his Bollux, but considering we haven’t won a Home game since January it doesn’t look very professional jumping in canals 3 days before a game.

This all depends whether you’re the sort of person who could live week by week, getting paid ridiculous money for something you’re not even doing. And accepting that that is your ‘lot’.

Whilst I accept its impossible to say what you’d do unless actually in a situation like this, I do think I’d like to be finishing each week actually thinking I’d ‘earnt’ my salary, that I’d tried hard, that I’d been part of something and if I didn’t feel this I’d leave to feel that elsewhere. Especially the ‘playing football’ part of things.

Rodwell must be living in some bizarre bubble whereby he’s getting paid huge amounts whilst he watches the hand that feeds him go down the tubes and he’s doing nothing for it.

Wouldnt be for me. I’d rather get paid 30k per week less and feel I’m part of something.

Or at least, I think so.

They can offer a mutal agreement to terminate the contract, but he gets payed off.

So better to have him around and payed than gone and payed.

The only thing that make him leave early is if a club or NFL team match terms and it warrants him leaving early

Yeah it’s more understandable for older players, but for people like Rodwell his confinedence is shot to bits who would leave a 70k a week contract to earn 10-15k a week if he was lucky.

Not sure any one wouldve been paying him 40k

now that his in league 1 his wages are reduced by 50%

35k for one more year

Great guy, shame he decided to stop playing football for Austria after the exit at EURO 2016.

But with Fuchs, you've got to take into account that he's living in two worlds, Europe and NYC. It's hard to lead such a life when your family is on the other side of the pond mostly.

I can accept him sticking around for another season and being a tutor to Chilwell and to whomever comes in as left-back, the most likely outcome I can see is that he won't be playing that much anymore (backup or cup competitions) and that he'll be off in the winter and join an MLS club in the area (either RB New York or NYCFC) for a year or two before calling it quits completely.

Lovely guy, slightly on the mischievous side, but always positive and a great role model.

He's had quite the journey in football, starting out with lowly Mattersburg, before breaking through in Germany with Bochum (under the later and now former Austria national team manager Marcel Koller) to Schalke and now Leicester.

Great find by Pearson/Walsh.
