This attitude?

You literally complained about Barnes being loaned out earlier this season...

No I complained about Barnes being recalled to then barely play for us he seemed to be recalled because they were chasing the PL 2 trophy, he’d have been better off playing for Barnsley all season

Very impressive the other night. He's developed massively in a handful of appearances in terms of presence, positioning, passing and overall influence.

Bodes well for his development if he can improve so quickly. He'd shown glimpses before- willing to get stuck in and I like the way he doesn't mess around with his passing- he certainly puts his foot through them. Wednesday was a pretty complete performance though, my MOTM on a night of good performances.

I'm sorry mate but you're having a mare here and seem to be arguing for the sakes of it.

Like Craig had said, this run in the side under Puel has done more for his development than two years at Burton. He's improved no end.

He's also not likely to fall that far down the pecking order as long as Puel is the manager. It's going to be much better for Hamza and English football if he's here growing as part of the first team squad than out on loan.

I like the loan system and I agree with you on Harvey Barnes but Choudhury has evolved beyond that really.

Finners if he's going to play then I am all for keeping him here but if we are going to play 4231 or some variation of that then he won't be ahead of NDidi, Iborra or Silva and we will likely sign another senior Cm not forgetting the likes of James, King (he won't stay at Swansea if they go down) and Mendy.

he's developed rapidly because he's played first team football, I want that to continue, if he is not going to play lots of minutes with us then get him playing elsewhere at as high a level as possible, we see lots of youngsters stagnate at his age in this country because they simply do not play enough games

The biggest issue I had with Hamza before this game is him being too passive. He jumped to tackles and got as physical as possible. More of that, please.

He looked great, let's hope it continues.

Let's assume for the sake of this post that he continues to impress, do we think we can fit him, Ndidi and Silva into the same team and, if so, how would that look?  Would we go 433 or 352?  Could Silva play behind the striker somewhere with Ndidi and Choudhury as a more traditional 2 man midfield?  Are Ndidi and Choudhury too similar?  I think with those three and Iborra we do look OK in centre midfield.

Awful (imo) on Saturday but very good on Wednesday, very defensive so not sure he could play with Ndidi every game, works well with Silva. Will only get better with games under his belt...

whilst its not ideal some journo that covers Portugese football said Silva has played 10 very effectively in Portugal before so that could work

For me he looks like he could play somewhere in the three behind Vardy as his quick passes are great but would we be putting square pegs in round holes?  Silva definitely has quality, it is clear to see.  Maybe it is more of a case of rotating and sticking to a 2 man as Choudhury is still young and unproven but interesting to think of possible formations.

If Choudhury sits back and Ndidi is more box-to-box I think they could fit well together

if you looked for the Izzet - Lennon - Savage type of midfield 3 it could work, Silva - Choudhury - NDidi

if we're truly trying to be this team that keep some decent possession that has to be the model for us in my opinion.

He's probably going to be ahead of James, King and Mendy tbf. I'd imagine they will be told they're surplus to requirements.

Mendy is an interesting one, he was Puel's captain at Nice. I just don't see how there won't be a temptation from Puel to really try and sweet talk him in to resurrecting his career with us. I'd not be against it, get rid of King and James and there's potentially room for him.

Given how much he's improved whilst in the squad, I don't know why anyone would want to loan him out at this point.

For me he gets into the team on merit with his current form regardless of injuries.

so with everyone fit who partners him?

I'd probably pick Ndidi and Silva if everyone is fully fit with Hamza first choice back up for Ndidi. Would also be bringing him off the bench most games to inject some energy and help us sustain a high press and good defensive cover in every match.

That's my personal view.

I really do think he'll get enough game time here that a loan would be unnecessary. Personally.

I was asking him as he said Hamza starts for him with everyone fit

Probably Silva following the Arsenal game

Ndidi's form leading up to his injury was really poor.

Loved his performances in the past couple of games, especially v Arsenal.

His anticipation seems to be very good and he does a lot of covering for the defence. Composed on the ball too.

I think I would hate to spend any amount of time in Burton! I was thinking more high end championship team (not derby...derby can swizzle)

Despite their relegation and unlike some of our players, the Brewers fought like lions this season. Hamza would have gained great experience in Burton as Davenport and others did.

He has a very promising future - we love him

Hopefully Puel won't be here.

Seems to have improved significantly since his first appearances in the first team when I thought he looked a little lost. Hopefully he’ll continue to gain confidence as he looked very promising against Arsenal.

Whilst he looks a promising player, Ndidi will do the same thing but better - at least whilst he's with us. When will we see a wide youngster come along who wants to take someone on, has a shift of pace etc?

I can understand what you're saying but I think that they play a subtley different game and especially if we switch to a 3 man midfield he and Ndidi could be a great partnership. Hamza is intelligent, he is a true cover DM (could probably play sweeper if that ever comes back into football) and he has a great pass on him, more than that he has leadership qualities that few players have - he has captained the U23 team this season. I really think Ndidi, Hamza and Silva would make a great 3 man midfield and we would be better as a 3 man midfield so we can then play Vardy and Iheanacho up front along with one skill player like Diabaté.

Just think what a player he will become after a run of games under his belt. The fact that in a very short space of time he's developed leaps and bounds.

The qualities highlighted are innate in Hamza and will be fine tuned with time.

Agreed.

I was surprised how much ground he covered similar and he of course he loves a tackle and also very viscous which i love.

Could be a very very good player if he improves his positioning etc.

P.s remember when the likes of Barcelona apparently were looking a him. lol

Has a great motor - kanté like.

I want to be known as the founder of the Hamza Choudhury fan club.

He's my new mainman.

Hamza can I have a signed shirt please?

Looks like he's settled now, understandably looked a bit nervous first few games but Wednesday night he came over confident & established... bodes well for next season, also thought Naco also had a really gud game...got a feeling he will also improve massively next year. .not hard tho I spose..
