Out of all of the creative players we’ve been linked to as a Mahrez replacement, this one is by far the most underwhelming to me

Completely agree. We haven’t really been linked with any wingers at all. Only Townsend and Roberts?

Manchester City starlet Roberts set for £10m Leicester move

Patrick Roberts is heading to Leicester City in a £10million deal.

The former England Under-20 international will be released by Manchester City to smooth the protracted £60m transfer of Foxes playmaker Riyad Mahrez.

Former Fulham midfielder Roberts has been out on loan at Celtic for the past 18 months.

They've just randomly stuck that paragraph in their live update page... No article, no author, no source quoted, nothing on any other news site. Odd.

Seems good but Traore every day for me

All I know of Traore is the YouTube video I watched when I saw the link. Given they were his highlights I wasn't massively impressed. I.don't know an awful lot about this lad either. His highlights are better and he knows English football. Got to trust the recruitment team.

Lukaku, Roberts, Maddison, Evans, Ricardo add another winger to that and its a great window for us even with losing Riyad.

Dunno bout that. Proof will be in the pudding I guess

I disagree. We've still not adequately replaced Drinkwater from last summer, let alone getting close to replacing a player of Mahrez's quality.

Hopefully silva performs next season - the silva from the Arsenal game would be an upgrade on Drinkwater.

What I have seen of this guy which isn’t a lot to be honest hasn’t really impressed me. I don’t care what people say the Scottish leagues really aren’t  all that . If he’s coming as competition for Maddison and Gray then thats is ok I guess BUT if he’s coming in as a replacement for Riyad then I would be even less impressed

£10 Million is nothing these days for a young British player.

He must have something as we seem persistent on making the deal happen.

I say give it a go.

We can't just stock pile average players though - we need someone who's able to replace Riyad, if lcfc thinks Roberts is that man then fair enough.

Dont think he will be a Mahrez replacement,

Still pretty sure the club have somebody proven in mind.

Not sure players are that interested in us tbh. It will be a kick in the teeth if we end up with Roberts as I'm sure we'd have enquired about higher calibre players.

£10m is a considerably better deal than the £15m we've been seeing previously, especially seeing as Man City paid £15m for him from Fulham in the first place. For a young English winner from a top PL club I'd definitely have him.

The Mahrez deal would have to be sealed and funds in the bank before any other player could be purchased.

Lets stay positive, its been a excellent window so far.

Not about replacing, i mean the team as a whole looks stronger.

The fact that man city are willing to loose 5m from what they paid for him, kind of tells me that they dont rate him too highly

They'll probably insist on a 12.5m buyback clause all the same
