If Claude was going, I would have thought he would have already been sacked. But then again we usually cock these things up, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up sacking him in about 3 weeks time, it took us about a month to appoint Shakey permanently last summer.

I think whether you like Puel or not, personally I don't, but the thing is what reason do the owners have to get rid of him 47 points 9th place, its an improvement on last season,so they are probably quite happy with that. i think they will expect improvements and he will tell them he can deliver, so i think come start of the season with hopefully new quality players bought in we'll all be giving him a second chance, so why don't we just stop asking question.

47 points and 9th is only a positive if we look like building on it. We don't. Those home games against Stoke, Swansea, Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham and Bournemouth were awful, you can accept a few bad games but 6 home games in a row we were toothless add in losing 5-0 to Palace and surrendering any hope of a Europa League place to Burnley so easily it becomes unforgivable.

Puel for me. 

 

Was having a wobble with him a couple of weeks ago but when put in perspective he's had a lot to deal with and seems to have found some fighting spirit in the last couple of games.

 

He's a clever man, he already knows who needs to move on and where he needs to strengthen and that is immediately a step up from anything a new incoming manager can bring. 

 

Changing manager at the start of a World Cup summer to someone who has no idea about the required recruitment here is suicidal behaviour. 

 

Give Puel the summer, a proper pre-season, a clear-out of past-it / bad attitude players and FFS organise some decent recruitment for him and we'll be fine next season.

 

Might as well sack off the mish-mash of backroom staff and give him his own team so there's only a single message / vision being passed down to the players as well. 

 

We're in danger of looking like a club that doesn't ever back it's managers and that is not good long term - people will stop wanting to come and manage here.

 

Stability has served us well in the past, I trust it will again. Puel will have hopefully seen enough in the last two games to make him realise that the players and the fans want to see a little more possession but with some serious ****ing attacking intent; that'll keep us all happy.
