Not saying they all will or should be playing at once, just that we seem to have a decent amount of talented youth teamers for pretty much all positions - also with Johansson at GK.

Yeah there's some decent kids coming through, I still think there's too much recruitment of 17-21 year olds from other academies who've been released rather than signing elite youngsters or developing our own who've come up the ranks and it's these that may get less of a chance due to bringing in the 17-21 year olds to make our U23 team more competitive short term. When we get this new training complex I'd like to think in an ideal world we have an academy coaching and recruitment setup to match such excellence.

There's nothing wrong with youth players having a winning attitude but it's up to the coaches to ensure that it is not at the expense of a rounded + specialist development.

Yeah I agree with that and I'm not saying that winning's bad, that would be mental, but that tells me that talent is likely to stagnate under him. Youth football should be very expressive.

Surprised Eppiah isn't in the squad so far, must be injured again. Also we spent a few million on Calum Wright from Blackburn who had got in their first team and he's nowhere to be seen in our U23's, very odd.

Eppiah long term injury (again!).   Wright also injured at present

Cheers, figured there had to be a reason. Eppiah could easily have made it at this level without injuries. Is that Meite still in the U18's? We are very light on strikers.

They're playing  the better joined up football and been a tad unlucky with the free kicks against  we look disjointed..

Ended the half much better after Reading were giving us the run around. Has anyone got the team list and numbers. There's a few players out there I don't know that look useful. I can see why Tee is so highly rated, only looks about 17 but is very good.

Forgot about Wright . Yes he was supposed to be the real deal - can't begin to understand the selection policy in this side

Oops missed the earlier post re injuries

There was also a Nigerian lad we signed last summer that I've not seen mentioned once for the U18's or U23's, then there's that prince of Brunei lad ??

Feel sorry for Beaglehole. Very good coach/manager. Having to shoehorn players into a 4-2-3-1 system with Loft up front just to suit Puel must drive him mad. Clearly not what he'd play given a choice. Shite system in my opinion and doesn't suit the Senior side either.
